Interesting... the last courier we had who I think was Estonian said that the way Hays Dx worked was to employ the drivers as self employed so they had to buy/hire a van then get insurance and front up on petrol costs that they would pay 6-8 weeks in arrears, he had enough and got out of the business full stop, the new bloke is Spanish and is struggling to cope so our deliveries are later each day. Please PM details of how I can be a sub-contractor delivery driver as I am taking home about £1200 a month.

You take your fuel out and yes the van gets paid for plus insurances and security levels...but if you can get a town centre route (drop rate up to 120 stops) uses less fuel-

DPD always on lookout for drivers....£3500 up front I think for a Franchise/Contract.....

60 hour weeks some of the times though.

It's not £1200 take home- and I would not do it too much aggravation...

Does that mean Article 50 is invoked and then we have to wait 2 years and be out the EU before negotiating though or can we begin to negotiate during the article 50 timescale period for what we want for after we've left the EU?

EU law, of which we are still under, is that until we have left, up to two years post article 50, then we cant negotiate with other countries. Lets see

If the future is that good maybe you should consider coming home then ?

The cost of living here is about 50 to 60% of the UK, my pension and all my investments are held in pounds sterling and the rand has gone from 12 to the pound to 20 to the pound in the last 6 years. I'm fine here for the time being and I'm not at all worried about my pension pot being badly hit. Apart from that, summer here lasts for 9 months of the year.

Ah, of course, our civil servants have donned their superman capes and have sprung into action......whilst the political elite are running around like the dying days of rome. Of course

You simply are what I said you are, shallow. Crap quip's and no substance.
I stand by what I have said. You try to crack pathetic jokes. Fine, Crack off son.

You have a shallow understanding of the way our civil services work don't you. You think they have been idle and agog with the brexit as you are? Nope, quite the opposite.

What's been going on then, and how do you know?

"It is also against EU law for a member to negotiate its own trade deals with outsiders, which means the UK cannot start doing this until after it has left the EU"

and the source of this wisdom? we cant have any trade agreement with countries outside the EU, that does not mean we can not talk about or "negotiate" outline deals ahead of leaving the EU. i know from someone who knows that all those trade delegations abroad cover what is and isnt permissible in EU rules, and where some accomodations can be sought, behind the scenes, to gain some favorable trade arrangments. it might be one reason the high level of overseas aid budget has been retained...

According to the Commissioner we have to actually leave first, so two years before we can start negotiations with ANYONE. Of course, she is talking total bollocks as, no doubt, Merkel and Hollande will tell her shortly. What's she going to do, throw us out of the EU if we break the rules?

Who are DPD and how do I get hold of them then ? I'd take £1200 a week before tax if I could get it ... long hours are not too much of a problem as I don't mind if the pay is good.

Had a look and found only shift manager vacancies, which is probably no good for me. pity... £1200 a week would be quite nice for me after slogging my guts out for most of my life... never mind, sure I can get a job earning that when I get to the promised land of Brexit.

I did say *some* of the ones I know-I barley get half of that....but it can be done by some of the white vans out there....probably more if truth be told....
