So you are saying that a naturalised Bosnian immigrant with a Masters in Engineering can't vote till he gets GCSE English :ffsparr:

Yes. If he has a masters level education that means he wrote a 15000 word dissertation, in English, in the field of Engineering. It'd be a piece of piss for him to sit the English GCSE exam and pass with flying colors should he feel the urge to be able to vote in the Uk. Sit it one morning, he'd be out by lunchtime.

Microsoft to raise prices by up to 22pc after slump in pound

Microsoft is to increase its prices by as much as 22pc in the UK because of sterling’s recent decline, a rise that is likely to affect thousands of businesses and could cost the Governments tens of millions of pounds.

Software inflation looming ; http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business...to-lift-prices-up-to-22pc-over-falling-pound/

If big businesses are still using microsoft then they deserve all they get,

I mentioned sometime ago a Brit company is now trying to renogotiate a Euro contract with a girl in my office as her professional fees have now increased quite a bit.

So, tax receipts are down yet again and the government had to borrow an extra 2bn to cover the month. I thought it was Labour who couldn't be trusted with the economy?

Morrissey: 'Brexit was magnificent'.
Europe and Britain continue to thrash through the fall-out from the British public's decision to leave the EU four months ago, but as far as Morrissey's concerned, the results were "magnificent".*
The British political class has never quite been so hopeless, but the same can be said for the USA. What has happened is that news media can no longer attach any nobility to old-style politics because although politicians do not and cannot change, the people the world over have changed. What could be more grotesquely stupid than the Clinton-Trump coverage? As for Brexit, the result was magnificent, but it is not accepted by the BBC or Sky News because they object to a public that cannot be hypnotised by BBC or Sky nonsense. These news teams are exactly the same as Fox and CNN in that they all depend on public stupidity in order to create their own myth of reality. Watch them at your peril!

Were you ever curious what they meant by Glockenende?

The only people to attempt that word would be plastic germans.Schwein or futzelecher were quite common though.

Why would he be handing in a dissertation in English at Sarajevo university?

Many foreign universities have courses in English. Especially in science, arts and engineering. Most foreign universities I am aware of do, and have to.

We'll need to borrow £18bn from someone just to settle the divorce settlement, that's before the stimulus to avoid a recession. Strange times...

Whatever next ? Lewes District Council to block the next european trade deal ?

They need to democratically decide on it, not allow small regional power bodies to veto entire deals.

It's not really comparable. Belgium is a federation not a unified country. Wallonia is a socialist self governing region that amongst other objections opposes the expansion of the rights of multinational companies to sue national governments when policy changes. This type of clause is also worked into trade deal discussions with the US. Many people in Europe oppose these deals and your suggestion of overriding the current objections would probably lead to the break up of Belgium.

Yes let's post irrelevant commentary rather than commenting on rising prices
