In reference to Sir Kier’s pledge to move the UK into the position of having the highest growth out of the G7 countries by the end of the next parliament; there is only one way to do this and it’s not (unless you are a Brexiteer) taking full advantage of the opportunities Brexit has provided.

This is his ‘get in’ card. Clever stuff but prepare for ‘we must make Brexit work’ until he has the keys to No.10. Only then will he have to make good on his pledge having discovered that there are very few economic opportunities to take advantage of whilst remain economically isolated outside the EU.

The Tories anti-Europe cult obsessives they will spend the remainder of their term trying to diverge us as much as possible and wrap us up in other trade deals even if they deliver no tangible benefit, AU and NZ are classic examples of this.

They know closer trade with the EU will give us growth, so the objective is to make it as hard a possible for Labour to achieve this. If that happens they will be exposed in full and out of power for a long time

Those Brexit benefits are really starting to roll in

‘Brits are suffering but for us it’s boom time’: how Brexit boosted French and Irish ports

The cheapest way from Ireland to Europe used to be via Dover. But now Cherbourg and Rosslare are thriving. Rain or shine, Colm Lambert likes to sit on a bench overlooking Rosslare port on the south-eastern tip of Ireland and watch the new freight ships and passenger ferries sailing in from the Irish Sea.

“They’re coming in from France, Spain, Belgium, Holland – it’s great to see,” he said. “Brexit has made an awful difference to here. Boris Johnson did Rosslare a favour.”

Sunak urged to rejoin £84bn EU scheme as 70% firms plot UK exodus in blow to 'superpower'

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has been urged to resolve Brexit disputes with the European Union, and get Britain back into the bloc's 95.5billion (£84billion) flagship research project. Experts told Express.co.uk that the UK is being blocked from joining Horizon Europe is hampering the country's dreams of becoming a science superpower. As a result, they published a recent report that found that 70 percent of UK based firms are planning to move their Research and Development to other countries, including the US and the EU.

Nothing for Britain yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time :lolol:

So, is today the day that Sunak finally tries to crunch the Brexit gearbox into reverse

Unfortunately, even if Sunak manages it, it will take at least another 10 years of suffering for all but the elite to recover, and we'll never get close to what we had

He will be doing everything humanly possible to get the DUP not to agree to the latest settlement leading to another Tory meltdown...
Indeed. It’s his only chance of getting the Tory Leadership back which is all he ultimately cares about. He wants the Conservatives destroyed at the next election, he’ll then march back in with his election record and declare that he is the only person to get the Tories back into power.

Still trying to troll with absolutely nothing to add on the actual subject of the thread ? Maybe bouncing another Kier Starmer thread will work better :dunce:

So who is going to be the first to utter the words 'vassal state' today ?

Farage - Evens
Johnson - 10/11
Donaldson - 3/1
Francois - 4/1
Icke - 10/1
Sunak - 12/1

no one, especiially brexiteers, ever questions why brextreemists like Farage et al get so much air time, "remainers" very little (or they tend to be ones who are argumentative like Terry Christian), and anyone with a sensible balanced view are totally ignored

The first signs that the grown ups are starting to reassert themselves. Would be terrific if he faced down the tantrums from the ERG on this.
