I guess your point here is: a benefit of being in the EU is that those democratically elected Governments within its structure can be given permission by the unelected Commission to vary their Taxation rules?

People have fought wars over this kind of thing……….no taxation without representation.

absolutely, it is incredible, speaking of wars, people still waiting for Brexit beanstalks while Putin's tanks are on the outskirts of Kiev

even more incredible people still buying into the idea the EU was something we were 'ruled by' rather than being part of

Brexit: Ministers told to delay new checks in July to prevent ‘collapse’ in trade

Boris Johnson’s government has been warned that some forms of UK trade will “collapse” if further post-Brexit checks are introduced in July. The Independent revealed earlier this week that the government is exploring a delay to new controls on imports from the EU because of growing alarm over the cost of living crisis.

Shane Brennan, chief executive of the Cold Chain Federation, said the checks would be a “nightmare” for small businesses – calling for the government to push them back. The food industry chief warned of a potential “collapse” in trade among “small volume” British businesses if the new checks are imposed in the summer.

Jacob Rees-Mogg, the minister for Brexit opportunities, has argued for the checks to be abandoned altogether, and Mr Johnson will be asked to decide on next steps.

So JRM now believes we should get rid of Import controls completely in this delightful little clusterf***. Maybe 2023 or 2024 will be the year for 'Getting Brexit Done' and 'Taking back control' :shootself

Remember the good old days when posters used to come on her and pretend we wouldn't have had a Covid vaccine without Brexit.

Back to reality, the Vote Government knows its a skip fire and they supplied the petrol

You need to go back even further to the really good old days when the wet mattress brigade used to have episodes concerning the effect of Brexit on the city……..

It's almost as if Brexit has finally descended into it's rightful place as a far-right/far-left circle jerk

Who would have guessed :lolol:

Good point, so the beneficiaries, as you would expect from a Tory Brexit, is the City, the bankers and big business, while ordinary people suffer the negative consequences.

More 7 figure banker bonuses while the peasants choose between heating and eating.

As with everything Tory flavoured, it will always be scyphoning the wealth from the poorest to the wealthy

....at last, the first signs of the Leave lobby admitting to economic stupidity.... attitudes are changing, thank goodness!

However, in your case no matter how many times people explain it to you, no one can understand it for you.
