It’s worth noting North Shropshire, besides being a ‘very safe’ Tory seat, was also a strong leave area. Farmers are realising they’ve been sold down the river too.
The by-election has returned the remain candidate with a massive swing.
That tells me that Brexit is no longer the main issue for the non loudmouths in the electorate. Good stuff. That is the first stage in fixing the country.

Indeed they are, good week to bury bad news under even worse news :dunce:

Brexit climbdown as UK abandons bid to strip EU judges of Northern Ireland Protocol role

The UK has abandoned its attempt to strip EU judges of the power to oversee the Northern Ireland Protocol, in another Brexit climbdown. The U-turn – denied by Downing Street just days ago – would allow the European Court of Justice (ECJ) to interpret the agreement, despite repeated pledges to “remove” its role.

The move comes after David Frost, the Brexit minister, also pulled back from threats to trigger Article 16 of the Protocol, despite Unionist anger over the trade barrier created in the Irish Sea.

The climbdown also follows the UK government quietly issuing more fishing licences to French boats, helping to calm a second Brexit dispute that raged in the autumn. However, the EU appeared to stamp on even the compromise plan for the Protocol, with disputes over customs declarations and physical checks on goods also set to tumble on into 2022.

Can you imagine how stupid you would feel if you were an ardent Unionist that voted for this :lolol:

I will try and explain this one more time simply, now put down the crayons and concentrate.

I didn't want any of this and therefor voted against it at the referendum and again when Johnson got elected with a majority on the promise of 'getting it done'

You wanted this border put in the Irish sea, for the refugee crisis to get worse in the last 12 months, and for the other ridiculous measures required by Johnson and the Leave campaign, and voted for it at the referendum and again for Johnson to get elected with a majority.

You are now all over this thread, the refugee thread etc etc moaning and whining about getting what you voted for. I can see some on this board may think you are a moron :dunce:

You can probably go back to the crayons now

From your own Hard Brexit thread.

some people wont need that [senokot] , they'll be shitting their pant's :D
regards
DR

And

will be interesting to hear the discussion in parliament in October about leaving the EU, there's no point in dragging our feet in a DEMOCRATIC vote to leave , A HARD exit is the way forward, NO FREE MOVEMENT is a must , THIS COUNTRY IS MORE THAN CAPABLE OF STANDING ON ITS OWN TWO FEET
regards
DR

And on free movement
yep because it will work both way for the Visa , to many just sauntering into this country for my liking, WE CAN SEE THE PRESSURE IT'S CREATING, ANYONE WHO CAN'T NEEDS THERE EYE'S TESTING imho
regards
DR

And now you’ve got what you voted for. The thing you kept saying you wanted, new what you voting for...
So you 're happy to have UK mainland goods going direct to NI being subject to EU custom rules ???
