Stop moaning, there is no doubt a new breed of moaners have been growing in this country in the last decade, we need doers, not moaners, they are unproductive and only spread hatred like the devil.

Stop fighting the inevitable, there are still people on here booing their arses out from a vote that happened in 2016. That is mental it's like a bunch of Zaha's.

They scaremongered all the way we would be going off a cliff face.

They need to take a bit of humble pie on board and understand that we have not gone off the cliff face, so they should be happy.

But we haven't yet lived in a post brexit Britain. Isn't the cliff face (if there is one) sitting somewhere around 5 to 10 years from now?

Would you be in favour of such a blocking?

Yes (though I can think of a few currently detained at Her Majesty's pleasure that I would be very tempted to make an exception for!)

In the event of part 2 of the scenario, a huge majority at a General Election, well, that would be Parliamentary democracy, wouldn't it. And there have been plenty of times in my lifetime when Parliamentary democracy hasn't coincided with my views - including joining the EEC in 1974!

Incredible & Emotional Day - Thank you Boris. I hope you get your own column like Nelson & in years to come subsequent generations will look up to you with a tear in their eyes - having given us back our pride, identity & independence.

The nation will be ever so thankful - I hope the Queen bestows the highest possible honour to you.

Arise Sir Johnson.

Cards on the table, I voted to remain but now we have negotiated a deal we have to make the best of it.
But a massive plea to all brexiteers - please do not blame the EU or the media or “remoaners” if things get tricky or relations both trade and political become difficult and do not always go our way . Taking back control and sovereignty also means taking responsibility

Well, now we have finally left, I am sitting back waiting for my weekly cheques of £5.25 to start arriving in the post - each one personally signed by Boris.*

I should pin your hopes on unicorns if I were you. After all, that was what the pro Brexit vote was about, apparently.

Why would Asia (or indeed. 'the world', if you like) rather seek out a small nation to offer sweetheart deals than bargian with the united and massive 27? What do we have to offer that the EU market doesn't? What does the world want to sell preferentially to the UK, and buy preferentially from the UK (preferentially versus the EU)? And do you really think the world want to sell to us more cheaply and buy more expensively than its trade with the EU?

As a smaller trading block our hand is weaker surely?

Happy to learn how I'm wrong

What do you need to import from Asia that you can not produce in the UK?

The global trade of bullshit is destroying the planet, its completely unsustainable the way things are going now. Nations need to become self-dependent or sapiens is as dead as its brothers and sisters, its been a fun ride overriding ecosystems but there are two options, either we step back and adapt to what should be our limitations, or we get caught up and destroyed. Economic growth and what not is nice for humans but mother earth is bound to regulate it in the end, at some point we need to make decisions to stop shipping tons and tons and tons and tons of luxuary nonsense from continent to continent, or the decision will be made for us.

In a lot of countries the same segments that are promoting globalisation are also promoting the idea of saving our planet from ecological disaster but I dont think you can have both. Making trade more expensive and more difficult is definitely wise in the long run.

Wonderful news this evening. We have our pride, we have our independence back, we have control - whilst there is time remoaners you can still buy a one way ticket under the tunnel. A momentous day today

Perfectly rounds off the whole sorry episode that the thread starter is NSC's self proclaimed richest poster. If I never have to hear anything about this again, it will be too soon.

Go and raise a glass of the old boy's beer that you drink, to Boris.

This is a positive thread that all should be happy with.

I’m not happy with it because it’s still all about the most stupid thing the British electorate has ever decided to do.

1st January will be a momentus day, for it will be the first step on the road to rejoining with our European friends and correcting this epic mistake

Think you will find the whole country will be better off now we have a deal, both monetary & in contentment. I voted remain but that was a mistake having listened to Osborne - the majority were right to vote for Brexit, I see that now.
Let’s all get behind the PM. Even Starmer & Farage have begrudgingly done so. We have a bright & prosperous future in front of us.
