A lot of people, who had taken sufficient time to understand Brexit have known this since before the Referendum. Over the last 4.5 years, it has gradually dawned on a lot more, and the last few months has made it abundantly clear to the vast majority. It is noticeable how rare it is to see a Brexit supporting post on this thread that doesn't consist of the normal Ppf and co drivel. When was the last serious genuine point made by a Brexit supporter about any aspect of Brexit ?
Covid isn't the only exponential curve happening in Britain today.
Looking at the complete lack of urgency on Lorry Parks, IT systems, Infrastructure, Staff recruitment, etc I can't help but wonder if we aren't going to get another Johnson U-turn and BRINO. Personally, I am hoping for 'no deal' so the Brexit voters can get the maximum benefits of Brexit. But if it is BRINO then we will get the normal runt of Brexit supporters whining on about 'not getting what they wanted or voted for', despite it being exactly 'what they voted for'

Really hard to tell with Johnson, he's not a true Brexiter, just a useful idiot to the Tories that managed to convince the public his Brexit deal was good when actually it was a crap surrender and would put the Union in peril.
The public seem to like Sunak even though he seems to be out of his depth, the Prefect will soon be after the Headmasters job.

The guy is a businessman, he's spent his whole life trying to make money, he now realises that post brexit that's now going to be much harder, he moves to where he pays less tax and can still make money. as Lightly Baked always says " Check, Change, Go " ... going to be much harder for those left behind though. Taking Back Control.
To be honest, I think the likes of Bag O'Shite and the clueless, racist, wannabe Nazi are perfectly happy if the country goes to shit, as it might stop all the immigrants from wanting to come here.

There is a consistent theme with these Brexit exponents, the benefits will only benefit them as wealthy businessmen or they are invested in its failure and they are well insulated from any downfall. There may be great opportunity for wealthy people to become even more wealthy but i've never heard them elaborate on how the average person will be better off. A tory masterplan that benefits the wealthy to the detriment of the rest as always.

He can also see the monumental effects that Covid 19 is having and will continue to have on the economy and life in general. It is decimating whole sectors of industry. It will leave us massively in debt and as a result much taxation will have to rise. It is inevitable. It will be ugly and uncomfortable. We are facing an economic tsunami. Millions out of work, thousands of businesses folding and an economic downturn lasting 3-4 years minimum. Compare this to the likely effects of Brexit ( and that is pure speculation...this is reality ) and there is no comparison. This is big time bad.
And yet, this thread demonstates that Brexit consumes many on here far more than what is happening in front of their own eyes. Compare the economic arguments and see the difference. Brexit wouldn't have shut down whole swathes of industry for months, maybe a year or more. Ruining the airline, cruise, tourism and hospitality industries. It wouldn't have seen 70-80% of office workers staying at home for a year and destroying a vast infrastructure of industry that relies on them. It wouldn't have seen 9m being paid to stay at home and billions having to be pumped into all manner of business to try and keep it afloat. Brexit wouldn't have seen massive damage done to the education of our children.
Brexit is a sideshow to the main event. Sadly, a lifelong obsession to many of the myopics on here.
Many in this country are now in pure survival mode. Brexit has gone on the back burner because, frankly, when you are trying to save your livelihood, your family or your business, then that comes first and surviving in the present and near future, has become paramount.

I'm assuming this realisation must have come as some sort of epiphany, since you were backing Brexit right up until a few weeks ago. Back then, you thought Brexit was just the sort of opportunity that SMEs in Britain needed
(And this is completely ignoring the fact that Brexit is the reason that we have Johnson and co in power, doing such a great job 'dealing with' this pandemic).
