Germany 'warns Britain its food producers might not bother exporting to the UK after a No-Deal Brexit over fears there could be chaos getting across borders'

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...00&jumpTo=comment-454979393#comment-454979393

Someone in the comments said, we lived on spuds and rabbit after the war we can do it again.

I replied said "Why do we think it's preferable to eat rabbits and spuds than to remain part of the EU. Such a stupid attitude." and got loads of down votes :lolol:

Can you even argue with such sheer stupidity?

I think that so many people have little or no idea of where their food comes from. Go back a hundred years and we used to eat " In Season ", now , thanks to all the fancy chef shows we need food out of season in the UK all year round in order to satisfy our tastes. Yes, we can live on jacket Spuds with Baked Beans and have Porridge every day for breakfast but it's going to be a pretty miserable way of trying to prove a point.

A lot of posters on here have no idea where Das Reich is coming from so I think the occasional reminder is worth it. Most brexiters on this thread plead ignorance to Das Reich's attitudes whilst at the same time complaining that remainers brand them unfairly as bigoted. Again, I think it's worth mentioning that possibly the most prolific brexiter on this thread is a racist who goes by the name of Das Reich.
I think he should be allowed to post under his original name that he's so clearly attached to. Why hide it?

show us yer tits ...go on...!!! you ****in know you wanna do it .....just do it....go on.

I recently read a piece by Rachel Johnson in which she said that her brother always thinks things through two or three moves ahead, like a chess player. I wonder if we are finally seeing evidence of that.

He is due to come under serious parliamentary pressure at the beginning of September (probably on the actual 80th anniversary of WW2 starting) when a motion of no confidence could be moved. Whatever the chances were of that succeeding, they may well have been reduced by Merkel/Macron's 30-days-to-come-up-with-a-backstop-alternative.

Johnson will argue that it is irresponsible to bring down the government during the 30 day period, given that it might end with a solution to the problem and then, potentially, a deal. MPs should wait, he will cry. Why upset the applecart when the prize is nigh?

No worry if it all proves to be a chimera. By the end of September it will be too late to stop a no-deal Brexit.

I'm not conspiracy theorist, so this may all be rubbish. Does anyone have any thoughts?

my thoughts are that we are ****ed....we need to renegotiate an amenable brexit ( if at all) to both sides .....however , i feel that trust will be lost at grass roots level , obviously a remain outcome is desirable for the younger folk and a hard brexit would be an unmitigated disaster for them ....i hope Johnsons wishes for free movement are workable and the Eire/NI border issue can be resolved .......i do think to a certain extent the EU needs to be told where to get off but the obvious advantages of remaining are blatantly clear , as are the disadvantages.....the one conspiracy theory i do have is that the politicians are slowly but surely becoming multi -millionaires and when the shit really does hit the fan they will be off like the proverbial rat op a drain pipe.

One for those among our number who claim getting Settled Status is a piece of piss...

[TWEET]1164812223614558208[/TWEET]

The application for pre-settled status and settled status has been described by the majority of people that have taken it (the gov surveyed those that completed the application) as very easy or fairly easy. They could have used the wording piece of piss but I guess decided against it.

Most found the EU Settlement Scheme application form easy to complete. In total, 81% of respondents, when asked how easy or not it was to complete their application form, reported that it was very easy or fairly easy; a further 8% found it neither difficult nor easy.

79% of respondents found using the EU Exit: ID Document Check app to prove their identity very easy or fairly easy (a further 7% found it neither difficult nor easy)

75% of respondents found proving their residence in the UK very easy or fairly easy (a further 8% found it neither difficult nor easy)

77% of respondents agreed that the application form was quicker than expected to complete (a further 10% neither agreed nor disagreed)

As for the personal circumstances of my French friend, I will not go into details here.

No one will know personal details beyond that she is a woman and French who lives in Shoreham, which is what you provided yourself. If she is your friend im sure you have already asked her and im sure she didn’t mind telling you if her ongoing application is still with the Settlement Resolution Centre or she has been granted settled status or she has been granted pre settled status.
Don’t see why you are reluctant to give an update to her status………..unless of course perhaps she doesn’t exist?

Don't think you can bait me. She does exist but the problems are family orientated so she is entitled to privacy.

If you say so, it would be very easy for you to confirm if her personal application is still ongoing at the settlement resolution centre or if she has been granted settled status or if she has been granted pre-settled status, especially as you seem to have asked and know. Divulging this information will not infringe on her privacy, you yourself are quite happy to say what peoples status is when it suits you.
For some reason you are reluctant to share.......i wonder why?

The club have clearly decided to get around the Backstop by expropriating ROI - my membership pack arrived today quite delayed with just my street address, town and "UNITED KINGDOM" on the address label. Somewhere along the line someone had written Ireland in biro. :jester:

Domestic 2nd class postage too!

pasta - just because as a red trouser wearing, Brexit voting, English public school Tory you've been unable to form meaningful relationships with women, French or otherwise, at any level - try and cultivate more empathy and less scepticism towards normal people who have. Shoreham residents or not, personally I've always found French women to be perfectly intelligent and trustworthy for example as well.

Every encounter with a woman is meaningful, must be something wrong with you if you think they are not.
French girls can be filthy as fock too, not just intelligent, bit like our German and Italian cousins, Swiss girls have a remarkable knack of incorporating all three dirty traits, nothing on a par with the Swedes of course. The beautiful game becomes irrelevant on footy away trips to Sweden. I believe Guppy even pulled there, or that might have just have been the Guinness he was drinking……cant remember.

Anyway, what was your point again? Was there one?
