Rory Stewart is the best candidate by a mile. No chance on Earth he gets it.

Fifth in the betting at 14-1, which isn't quite no-hoper odds. Hard to see how he gets on the ballot paper though, and even harder to see the crusty old Home Counties types going for him over a blood-and-thunder no-dealer if he does.

On the 24th May he was 25/1...

He's still a Tory but he's the best one as far as I can tell.

Message to all those old Tory members, please don’t vote for Rory. He’ll get Brexit over the line.

Vote for Boris as we’ll get a second referendum

Brexit: British businesses warn Tory leadership hopefuls against ‘severe’ disruption from no deal.

Conservatives will forfeit their right to be regarded as the party of business if the new prime minister fails to secure a Brexit deal, industry has warned.

In a strongly worded message to candidates to replace Theresa May as Tory leader, the CBI said that a no-deal Brexit will cause severe disruption and long-term damage to UK competitiveness, which the vast majority of businesses cannot protect themselves against.

Carolyn Fairbairn, the CBI’s director general, said the failure to resolve Brexit was already hitting Britain hard, diverting billions of pounds of investment out of the economy.

I really can't decide who knows most about British Industry, the Director General of the CBI, or Boris
that's odd, i thought you were the resident know it all ,were you like that at the ballot box last week ?
regards

Vote for Boris if you want a new comedy sketch show series you mean? It would be a laugh but Rory Stewart raises the intellectual level tbh. Might not be as entertaining but probably better for the UK.

Given that Trump has just slammed tariffs on imports from Mexico almost as a temper tantrum, has there ever been a worse time in recent history to expect to a post no-deal trade arrangement with the USA?

Tariffs which also, of course, ride a coach and horses through the workings of the WTO which many who espouse No Deal are so wedded to as a thing.

You would think so wouldn't you ?

However, I have every confidence that if Rory got in and tried to put a deal on the table again then Boris, JRM, Raab etc would ride to the rescue and all vote to stop us leaving the EU again (Ironically cheered on by Ppf, Two Profs, Westdene Seagull, JC Footy Genius, Baker lite etc).

If you made it up, no one would believe you :lolol:

I don't think he would be better for the UK, for the reason nicko31 gave. Gove too.
