I agree with what you've said about Johnson and JRM - the thought of that self serving **** Johnson becoming PM fills me with sadness. That doesn't mean I'd rather the communist Corbyn be in charge though. The thought of that fills me with fear, and I'd take sadness over fear (although if they were the choices, I'd probably vote Lib Dem or something).

I suspect so. Obviously he recognises we have a democracy here, but I believe he's a communist at heart. And it's not that the idea that people should be equal is a bad concept, it's just that it doesn't work.

That would be a massive change, and of course the speaker would allow that. Half the people who voted for her deal wouldn't back that, but half those that didn't, would. But she wouldn't want to put that forward.

Not until the Northern Ireland issue is resolved. We would be in The customs union and single market during withdrawal period, and the aim in the PD is that we would have A customs union after, but the backstop is The customs union for the UK and single market alignment for N.Ireland.

Ok. I was under the impression that Ken Clarke's proposal resolved the NI Border issue negating the need for the backstop to come into effect? The DUP abstained I see, so they have not dismissed it altogether. I cannot find enough info on the proposal unfortunately to see if it is a decent solution or not.

That will happen. Very hard for Corbyn to win getting on for Blair 1997 numbers of seats in England, to give him an overall majority.

I don't believe this. I think he would have won. He has huge support. Huge grassroots support too, which matters a lot when campaigning with the election funding system they have over there. A far better candidate for many Americans than Hilary ever was, who many seemed to view as the least worst option rather than a good option.

I predict now that he will win the Democrat nomination to run for presidency, and will win in 2020, partly due to a high turnout of people coming out to vote because of the change he represents. The younger generation wants a different America.

I wish he could be President, anything but Pence, Trump and their extreme policies.

Unfortunately, it just won’t happen in my opinion. America leans far more towards free enterprise and anti socialism, than our electorate. Sanders would have to carry much more of their electorate than caring Democrats including ethnic minorities.

Plus arrogant Trump will be riding high now, after the whitewash over his criminality.

Quite. And he seems to think he has one up on me because he captained the school team whilst I was busy getting myself a decent education. If I had my time again, I’d probably still plump for a degree in Mathematics over being captain of the year 6 football team. I guess it’s all relative though, the latter might impress the people in his local....who are probably the same people he went to school with.
