its amusing that nation members are allowed to do individual agreements, despite the official line there is to be no negotiation and agreement outside Barnier and team.

You seem to be struggling again. The referendum undoubtedly showed there was a slim majority for leave. This poll shows we can have 97% confidence (at least) that there is now actually a less slim majority for remain.
In your defence, clapham is correct when he says that opinions do oscillate and you might find that at Christmas the pendulum has swung back to leave, who knows? But as of the here and now, there are likely more remainers than leavers in the UK.
Sadly though it's hard to imagine a Labour government would be much better.

And it makes very good points. Although Britain is still a fairly significant power in the world, after effectively being pushed around by Ireland over the border issue, it is fairly clear that we are nothing like the power a lot of leave voters thought. (Easiest deal in history, need us more than we need them, etc etc)
And what did the American's predict ?
Few who saw the TV programme on America’s London embassy will forget the smirks as an US official described the British Brexit delusions: “They sort of see it as a negotiation between two equal parties.”

you completely missed the point, its about the transgression of the official rules on who gets to carry out negotiations. the story also has a substantial flaw, it assumes that you can identify the source of goods based entirely on the lorry. if the French really agreed to this, there would be a large surge in lorries registered in Ireland, operated and maintained from depots in UK. border control has to check each lorry's paperwork for the origin of the goods carried, possibly the driver's license too, not just go by the number plate. a suitable system in place can streamline this, but remember all said about how hard this is for the Irish border, applies for the channel too.
He was a heady mix of lies, the same old predictable cases to his arguments, spouting bullshit about topics he knows **** all about, bitterness and plain nastiness on his first day back. Channel ports or Irish border, as anyone remotely in the know is aware, the the whole thing is one giant cluster**** to solve due to the number of UK registered vehicles in border counties in The Republic of Ireland and Irish vehicles on the Northern Irish side.

Now its you that is struggling, even if true at this moment and next month it swings back to leave and the month after that swings back to remain.........so what, none of this matters. We have had the decision to leave, a decision given by an act of parliament to hold a singular referendum on the matter, not multiple referendums.
The moaners amongst remainers would be far better off respecting democracy and building a long term campaign how they will be able to get a pro european party in government standing on a rejoin the EU ticket after we have left.........i suspect the public appetite for a rejoin debate will be well and truly gone for a number of years from the majority of voters though after we have left.
