If there was a second Brexit referendum how would you vote?

Shouldn't be a concern at all, it was obvious this would probably happen before the referendum and no doubt all those that voted to leave were fully aware and happy to accept this. It is just business and economic sense to manufacture goods within the single market to avoid tariffs within your largest market.

German efficiency should really be the headline.

I doubt it will worry the ideologues to be honest. Relevant to this was a piece by the Sky economics editor over the weekend, in which he reported the existence of a Treasury paper indicating the likely economic costs of the various Brexit options. The one outlined by May in January (and which she verified yesterday) carried the highest burden of the options considered. Naturally, she has refused to allow the Treasury to release the information to the British public.

"Reprehensible", said the Sky editor

I think its worth a reminder of what Brexit options there are...

We are basically after what Canada has but with a special free trade deal because we are British, have the Queen and everyone is so reliant on us. Interesting the Norway makes about same contributions per capita as the UK.

Answers on a postcard please..

Did anyone from Britain actually turn up in Brussels today?

I see in the comments section a reader, presumably a Brexit voter, says this decision would have happened anyway despite Brexit and BMW are just using Brexit as an excuse to relocate to Eastern Europe and cheaper labour costs. It was then pointed out to him, that Germany isn't really an Eastern European country..........................

Oxford is the heart and soul of Mini, one of Britain's greatest manufacturing success stories on the modern era. BMW will only move if they have to, really would be a last resort.

The EU leaks like a seive... there will be plenty of posturing, chest beating, brinkmanship, virtue signalling, and downright lies.

Also, anything from the EU side attempting to undermine/pressure our position will be gleefully reproduced on this thread as if it's gospel .. with a drizzle of weary 'told you so' topping :D

Just out of interest - what point will you concede it was a bad idea?

I will be happy to admit I was wrong if we get a better deal than we already have.

Does the motley crew of proven liars, back-stabbers, expenses thieves and insult-warriors at the heart of this adventure actually NEED the EU to undermine our position?

But what is the UK's position?

I can't see any circumstances where halting the inevitable drain of soverignity plus regaining primacy of UK law and UK democratic instiutions and control in many other areas will ever seem like a bad idea.

I'm sure they will have a go .. ably abetted by the motley crew of proven liars, backstabbers, expenses thieves and insult-warriors who still can't accept the referendum result.
