I'm not sure that the authors of Second World War learning sites can be regarded as 'people that agree with my sentiments'. They just report history.

One or two of us have been asking for details of that quality British car (the demand for which exceeded supply) whose manufacture you contributed to before the Europhiles wrecked its prospects. At the moment that's an unsupported fact. Can I ask again. What was it?

It was the much-lamented Rover 75,produced under the ownership of BMW.Will you now tell me which 'expert' produced the figure of "Millions" without gas-masks?

I agree with you regarding the fragile state of the WORLD economy, but please do not confuse the state of the WORLD economy (problems in China, Japan, US, Europe, etc.) with Brexit.

Yes, some people have borrowed too much money, but this is a separate problem and again affects more than just the UK. However, the effect of Brexit won't alter the level of debt.

Please advise me what you mean by experience ?". This is just empty rhetoric and soundbites. Or, to put another way it's crap - just as much as me saying that we will be losing the shackles of the un-elected technocrats and soaring into the future with the guarantee of superb public services, high-paid jobs and early retirement. "flogging a dream of hope over

You have yet to say if you still agree with implication that our wages have performed the same as Greece, or if you accept that this is just selective use based on exchange rates, and a very different case can be made starting from the end of 2008?

The Brexit dream of hope is just that, There is no magic formula to create a better economy for all. There is no plan on how to Brexit there is only hope that it all works out and the £350M a week we "save " from being part of the EU will somehow trickle down to everyone. It's frankly not going to happen . still that's enough for now, carry on dreaming ....lets hope it's not too bad when you wake up.

I worked those hours for 18 months,and a lot of the Sikh guys I was working with would happily have worked even more hours if the company had let them.Our employer insisted on regular medical check-ups as part of our 'Terms and Conditions',so you don't know what you're talking about,as usual.

All I can tell you is that there is a statistical link between those working more than 48 hours a week and increased heart attack, high blood pressure and ill health. It is a fact proven in court by the EU, in a case the UK government brought, against their own legal advice.

Presumably proven by 'experts' who've since died of heart attacks,brought on by high blood pressure from sitting on their backsides doing sod-all,having never worked at anything!:cheers:

And what about all of the Lies from the Remain side? Remainers seem very keen to keep on about that one statement, yet fail to accept the criticism of the Remain campaign.

£30bln emergency budget.
Interest rates to rise.
House prices to crash.
Drop in GDP.
WW3.

I do wonder how many more would now vote LEAVE as they have seen nothing to worry them.

I have my eyes wide open and all I can see is an expanding range of opportunities to develop further trade without being limited by the petty internal politics of trying to get 27 countries plus the commission to agree policy. The future is bright, and one day once you have seen the truth you will be thanking those with the vision to move forward.

That £350m was a very poor estimate-OBR now thinks it will be closer to £407m!

It was the worldwar2 learning site. I've no idea what experts were involved but the general point that after months of the Phoney War (Churchill called it the Twilight War apparently; didn't know that) a large proportion of Britain's 50-odd million population decided that nothing much was about to happen and that they could stop lugging their gas masks around is hardly contentious and in itself has nothing to do with the Brexit debate. Other of course, than the fact that when people are warned that something will happen and it doesn't happen right away then they look on the bright side and assume it never will.

Human nature. We all suffer from it.

I'm interested in your claim about the Rover 75. It was a good car, the best that had carried that badge for a very long time, but I didn't realise that demand for it ever outstripped supply. My understanding was that sales were disappointing from the start. They were certainly affected by consumer worries about the future of the company, worries that were justified later. You clearly know something I don't about this. Can you give me the facts about booming demand and the Rover 75's death by Europhilia?

Got it. Can't defend the Remain Lies so post any old crap.

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

If you can believe all that then yes, you are "Brexit ready " !

Sorry for the delay in replying,busy day.Can only testify to the hours I worked,and UK manufacturers are not known for their charitable work,so I must have been working for demand!As to your 50 odd million people in the UK in the WWII years,had the German,Italian and Japanese armed forces invaded????

And how many were pre-registered by Rover to over inflate sales figures.

Anyway, happy new year everyone. I hope it's a good one.

https://www.fxstreet.com/news/germany-economy-running-warm-bnpp-201612290623

"The German economy continues to expand at a robust pace and research team at BNP Paribas expects GDP to grow by 1.8% during 2016."

Happy New Year indeed!I'm over the moon with the German economy expanding.With a bit of luck the EU will get most of the money to rescue the Italian banking system from them,and won't be round us with the begging bowl!Happy Hard Brexit!The only way is up!!!

At least I didn't believe the crap chart from the Socialist website (whichever one it was) that someone posted earlier unlike you. Hence your reason to post poetry I guess as you lost the discussion.

Never mind, as least Brighton are top.

There is no discussion to lose I'm afraid, this thread continues to highlight that we are a divided Britain which may never be put back together again. 24K plus posts and people are further apart than ever. My worry is when Brexit fails to deliver on its promises what happens next to all those disaffected voters who voted out and they see no improvement in their circumstances ? what is Plan B ? .... as for the wages chart thing, i'm willing to believe it as I'm earning a lot less than I was earning 10 years ago with no sign of improvement on the horizon.

Yes, I said '50-odd' million when the precise figure was 46 million. Now, just to reassure us that you're not swerving, could you answer the question at the end of the post you were responding to, particularly in view of the charges you have been making about unsupported facts?

Already given any answer possible-perhaps you should visit Specsavers in the New Year,or enroll in an Early Learners reading English class!
