Did anyone else go to see him at St Georges Church last night (well I know other people did because I saw them there but anyone looking on here)?
I was never a fan of the suede (although I have got a pair of shoes made out of them - theyre not blue though - and theyre a nightmare to keep clean) and would struggle to name a song that they did. But I went along to accompany a female, had never been to the venue before, and thought it was fantastic. The sound was superb and he is really talented. He played the piano and sang (not at all like Elton John) whilst some nice looking young lady played one of those big violins that you play vertically (is it a viola or cello?), then he does a bit accoustically with her as well, and then on his own. Good solid hour and a half or so performance, not including the fag and booze break of half an hour, and probably 250-300 in attendance.
I wont be rushing out and buying up the back catalogue but I was able to appreciate his talent and the venue and sound.
