It's not really fun, is it?

Going through the pain of getting to and from the Amex, again, on Wednesday night isn't thrilling me right now. It shouldn't feel like that.

No it's not.

I personally have no excuse, the game fits perfectly in my work schedule, I think I might have been pleased about that, when it was announced.
But Jnr has a game so isn't going.
And I just (for the first time this season) can't summon up the energy to go.
I could definitely offload my tickets - in the old days.
But I'm sure they'll be empty seats instead.

Granted probably my biggest reason, 51%, for not going isn't Albion related, as joked about on the Mike Dean thread.

I can't sit and watch us meekly have our tummy tickled by Harry Kane.
I can't watch him ref the game.
I can't watch him attempt to paralysis an Albion player then claim (and get) he was fouled.
All the cheating and histrionics makes him perfect for this place - less so in an adult environment.
I loathe him.

I'd be up for it if I thought anyone in strips was also up for it.
But as none of us are.
I'm going to take a short break in the hope that my absence will be a lucky charm.

Watching Brighton at the moment is like going to see a film by a competent but not necessarily ground breaking director. It'll have all the moving parts but you won't come away awed by the experience on any way.

Call me entitled if you want, all I'm after is the rush of excitement I felt when Sanchez found Cucu at Anfield with that low drilled pass, Cucu slipped in Trossard and the ball found itself in the back of the net after a bit of tricky footwork.

Two passes, some skill, a goal.

Excitement. Awe.

I'm (almost) sure there must have been recriminations after that! Can't have irresponsibility like that from Cucu - much safer passes were available!

Yeah, but watching on tv means listening to dopey ex players and commentators fawning over him. Won’t someone think of the armchair viewers (me) ?

I can guarantee 100% that THPP has never said Tony Bloom is in it just for the money. That is the most ridiculous thing you have ever posted. Tony Bloom has loaned the club over £350million to build the stadium, and training ground. He’s converted some of that interest free loan into shares.

He is a troll. Probably Palace. Certainly not Swedish.

I've not forgotten that he emailed Paul Barber 'on behalf' of Nsc. He's not a Brighton fan when all's said and done. I sometimes want GP to move on so he goes too.

Um, he is tho. And for better or worse, his super-obsessive self has landed on NSC, where he's loving the attention. Or at least the instant interaction. Interesting guy. Talks a lot of sense, talks a lot of shit. Same as the best of the rest of us really. All makes for a livelier forum

I think everyone is a fan and perhaps one of the major issues at present with the club is communicating and managing aspirations.

GP called fans “entitled” not that long ago which was a monumental insult in my view also the club has stated aspiration to be a top 10 Premier League club clearly not within reach with current resources ergo open target for calls for more investment

My own view GP doing an outstanding job and we carry on down the development of players route[/QUOTE]

I agree mostly but in regards to development, what is Ferguson gaining by sitting on the bench every game when we cannot buy a goal?
Surely he must be worth a start.
If not, put him back with the U23s. At least he will play some competitive football.

Edit. I see he wasn't on the bench on Saturday but has been a lot recently and played a very few minutes.

Except since joining the squad in mid December (v Wolves) he's started for 3 out of the 7 PL2/u23 games we've played in that time and also he Youth Cup tie v Charlton.
He had 22 mins v Villa of course and is presumably gaining from being around the first team squad and there as an option if Welbeck/Maupay had in game injuries and still getting a decent amount of competitive football that the club seem to be managing well around first team commitments. He's only 17 - there's no rush.

Very much this, Jesus the PL is dull as shit for teams like us. A well ran club with tens of millions at its disposable where mid table flirtation is about as good as it gets.

When you look across the last twenty years the club has been on a rollercoaster of ups and downs through the divisions it’s in all of our DNA as supporters. We all struggle with the realisation this is as good as it gets for clubs like us and the idea we should all be celebrating mid table finishes year on year.

As many have commented the journey was much more fun than the destination

Sounds like a scooter rally :lolol:

I look for a ticket for most home games and increasingly just look at the price, think of the hassle and don't bother.

time is precious, money thankfully isn't the biggest issue (yet) but most of all I just feel totally detached from a massive corporate machine and being told what and how to support my local club. . .It used to feel like we mattered and by christ we cared. . . not now though.

How dare you imply that the club is not being run by fools, and that maybe they know what they are doing, on and off the pitch. ???

I appreciate that nobody is beyond criticism, but this seems to be a green light for some to pile in at every opportunity.

It's boring.

And no doubt someone will say I'm boring for going on about how bored I am with all the moany bores  :lolol:

I don’t see any problem with discussing the performance after a game isn’t that part of being a football fan? I previously said with Burn at CB we actually look like a competent PL side, personally thought Dunk would struggle to get back in the side. The club then sold Burn to a rival for peanuts which I didn’t get at all, so what if he wanted the move we don’t all get what we want in life.

It can’t be rosey all the time everyone makes mistakes even the club and fans have every right to discuss things negatively or positively.

This. The showboating chestbeating support of All Things Club is tiresome in the extreme. The club get some some things right, they get some things wrong. If we can't discuss these things on a case by case basis then NSC serves no purpose really
