What's happened is that Wrexham AFC asked for the High Court case brought by the Inland Revenue to be adjourned for 28 days. The Inland Revenue didn't oppose this application and it was granted by the Court.

The next major event is the Court dealing with the Football Club's application to go into administration. That will be heard in about ten days.

Once in administration, the Club can use its administrators to negotiate a settlement with the Inland Revenue (or, alternatively, the administrators may have to appear at the High Court when the Inland Revenue case resumes).

Yes

They have until the High Court hearing to find a buyer that is willing to pay Hamilton what he wants and have the money to pay the Inland Revenue. If they can do that then they will avoid going in to Administration.

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but I can't be arsed trawling all through the Wrexham threads....

Anyway, at Prime Ministers question time today an MP (I assume the local one for Wrexham?) brought to the houses attention the plight of Wrexham FC and lower league clubs in general who are seen as easy prey for property speculators. Tonys response?.....They are a private company and the government can't be seen to be interfering in the affairs of a private company, however he wished them well. To a degree he's correct. HOWEVER.....The FA and FL should be doing something about it! Private company or not!!

I have said this before.

Wicked Landlords

The best political angle (I think) is to ask for comment on the general policy of asset strippers in society, or the property developers buying up a firm closing it down (often under the pretence of relocation) putting the workers out of work, often with knock-on effects to the local economy.

e.g. Wrexham FC, the fishermen at Littlehampton (property developers wanted to build a marina), Watercraft at Shoreham (Yard closed down and land sold for housing), plans by Shoreham Harbour to sell off the harbour wharves for more housing (now aborted).

It all hinges on the land value for houses being four times that of industrial premises (and football clubs) and retail use many more than four times the value. Thats why the Structure Plan zones the harbour wharves for port related industries, to stop these rip offs to protect the local economy.

And many people think more of their football team than their jobs!

Aside:
One employer did not think much of an Albion promotion. If the Albion won or lost the employees were still hung over on Monday to do any work, and if it there was a mid-week game, they would not come in it all.

Forgive me if I appear simple, One thing I don't understand is:

Wrexham Fc have applied to go into administration to stop Hamilton fleecing the Club.

Hamilton owns Wrexham FC.

So who applied to go into Adminstration??

Hamilton does own the club and the ground.

However he resigned as chairmen.

Therefore the two directors who were aganist Hamilton put us into adminsitration

I'm confused. Is Guterman's takeover bid a friendly bid that will help the club, or is he another asset stripper who wants to knock the ground down and put up posh flats, leisure centres, etc like Hamilton? Sorry for diverting from the administration case, but Five Live were mentioning it this evening.

Guterman & Hamilton are a pair of asset strippers, who have a history of sometimes working together and sometimes appearin not to be working together.

Both consider football supporters to be, at best, irrelevant, at worst, scum.

Wrexham supporters despise them both.

Dave Bennett and Dave Griffiths the clubs two local based directors applied to put the club into administration, it gives us chance to find a buyer, they've worked their balls off and could have saved us by these actions :clap2:

Very true. Unless I am mistaken I think the majority of fans thought Gutterman owned the club only to discover it was in fact hamilton who had the 78% share. Someone many Wrexham fans had not even heard of at that time.
