Lord Lucan is now presumed to be dead, a High Court judge has ruled.

A death certificate has been issued 42 years after the peer vanished when his children's nanny was bludgeoned to death in London.

So did he jump off the Newhaven ferry or eaten by one of Aspinalls Tigers? ???

The ruling does, of course, allow Lucan's son to inherit the title.

If I had the option of calling myself "Lord Lucan", I'd probably hang around a bit longer until something more agreeable like "Harold Shipman" or "Fred West" became available.
