I went home from work on friday before seeing this thread as my dad was involved in this incident. He is a sparky at the site. He is ok, just shaken and has hurt his wrist. He had to look after the crane cab driver who was serioulsy injured when the crane came down.
The 2 chaps that died were breaking down the crane in prepaation for it all to come down on saturday. The were both riggers and were both harness onto the gib of the crane when it toppled.
The crane had no weight on it - the cause of the crash is still unknown and the site has been shut till next monday for the H&S to investigate./
