My vote is a tie between Jo & Co & the breakfast at the Ivy - Both very good.
The Ivy is pile of pretentious shit used by 'wanna be's'. Never seen a restaurant so "Tit's and teeth" in my life.

Shoreham way, Teddies is good as is Artisan and Hector's Shed. My favourite is Artisan as it does traditional full English as well as slightly more varied fare. Plus it has a really nice outside area. Happy Birthday for Saturday.
Artisan has recently changed hands and menu. No longer my recommendation.

Short trip up the A23 to Pyecombe. Wayfield Farm Shop do an excellent breakfast. Sausages are wonderful.

We really do need @Live by the sea to cast his vote.
Just can’t stand the ‘look at me parking on the double yellow lines outside’ vibe. My irrational dislike has become rational now.

I go for Baked on Church Road. Also Oeuf on 3rd Avenue - all a bit annoyingly Hove but can’t deny it’s good coffee and breakfast.

Port Kitchen also recommended.

Literally everything at The Perch is excellent. Food, service, views, decor....

Since this was posted, I feel the food at Perch has gone downhill a little. They seem to have cut down the menu and it it isn’t great value for money. The newer one on Worthing Pier tries to be different but still limited choice for breakfast.

I pity you poor fools having to travel over 500m for a top quality breakfast.

I even have a choice!!

The Port Kitchen in Southwick is very nice. Quite new on the north side of the locks over Shoreham harbour. Sit outside or upstairs if possible. Probably be called poncey by half of NSC though

I think I had Sunday lunch there 3 weeks ago. Massive food portions but let down in the beer options. And it’s poncey 🤣

100 agree.
Went in a few weeks ago. Rude with an attitude serving, no decent food. All vegan pastries and Riot Grrrl attitude.
A great place wrecked.

When I asked if they had a traditional breakfast anymore she said no, pastries.

I said
“No worries, thanks anyway”

Her reply was, genuinely;

“I’m not worried”

Not stepped foot inside since and don’t intend to until the place goes bankrupt and I might pop in for a giggle.

My choice now is Drift for a lighter meal, loveky and chilled upstairs there
And
Perch, Lancing for trad breakfast. It’s over priced but not bad.

Has anyone ever been in the Route23 Diner on the A23 just south of Pyecombe?

Good to hear it’s a functional business, always assumed it was some kind of front as never busy / open when I’ve driven by!
From memory it was open “workers” hours, something like 6am to 12 noon. It has a different name now though.
