Breakfast Club a testament to my youth

In June 1985 after enduring O'Levels I took who I thought was the prettiest girl in the school to see this film on a scorching Wednesday afternoon about 5pm.

My self and this young lady had mutual dislike since late 1981 . Then in early 1985 hormones kicked in. Bless you wheresoever you are. I love this film.

Yes I am pissed.

First time i've ever agreed with HB&B. The Breakfast Club, one of the only movies to speak to teenagers regardless of generation.

Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. What we did was wrong. But we think you're crazy to make an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us... In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain and an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal
Does that answer your question?

Sincerely yours, the Breakfast Club

An 80s classic, as good as St Elmos Fire

Hmmm, I remember St Elmos Fire as being crap at the time, but I've not seen it since to re-affirm my recollections.

On the RIngwold/Sheedy question, I think I'd have to be in the Sheedy camp every time.

Classic stuff Tim!!! Could be the opening gruff voiceover from a Hollywood flick "It was June 1985....about 5pm..."

Superb film, I loved it. In truth, it's actually no more than an ok film, but like you HB&B, it's the memories it evokes.

Who do you prefer out of Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy?

It really would depend on what day of the week it was. Someday's I wanted the whole ginger experience, other day's it was Sheedy Sheedy Sheedy. On Sunday's, if Saturday had been a gash drought, it was definately both!

Currently on Film4 and still an immense film, a classic in my view

Used to love this, watched it a couple of years ago and was disappointed to find it was actually shit. Apart from Molly Ringwald.
