If there was a (preferably televised) Russian roulette game between all the nasty politicians, I'd hope for him to get bullet.

He is immensly powerful unfortunately and I don't think any election will stop that. He can easily create or find something dirty on Lula to create dissent, or get the Brazilian oligarchy to strangle the economy and create chaos etc. until he comes to "save the day".

Don't think they're out of the chaos but hopefully.

yeah, he's still a political grandee and won't be going anywhere. think we saw from Lula's trumped up corruption charges that there will be continuous attempts at interference. but I do think it's a pretty big deal that he's become the first incumbent to lose after one term. his brand of populism will come again, but at least we know how fallible it is now

The playbook among the new age radical right appears to be that if they lose they keep denying it until someone acts against them. Trump, le Pen, Lukashenko. Johnson tried it earlier this summer.

For those who don't know, Neymar (and several other Brazilian footballers) have been very outspoken in their support for Bolsonaro. The only active Brazilian player who is opposed to Bolsonaro, AFAIK, is Richarlison.

Brazilians now mocking him in the streets, saying he'll have to declare his taxes...

Love it. Takes a lot for Brazilians to mock their best player a month before the World Cup so you get the sense they really needed it.
