When I lived in the States I remember a store called Target, a sort of upmarket Walmart, had a huge shoplifting problem. I was in their store in Harlem and shoppers were brazenly walking out with unpaid for goods. Nobody approached them so I assume they had a similar policy

Indeed. I don't think people realise how bad it is in the US at the moment. People moan about England but the states is something else.Absolute mess.

I remember sneaky shoplifters as a lad, hide something in the pocket. These days it's just walk out with as many things as you can carry
