:nono: The worst thing is that I am sure some Millwall fans will see this as an excuse to have a go at Palace fans in a similar situation.

No doubt there are tales of derring-do about 'Toe to Toe', 'Outsmarting the OB', 'Ketchup everywhere', 'Calling cards' and other Thugtastic cliches.

We have our pond life of course at the Albion, but for today at least we should be SMUG and SUPERIOR.

Millwall were our "hate" club pre-Mullery.

Then they took on the world .."We are Millwall, nobody loves us, we don't care" etc...

Millwall are not the 'Crew' they used to be (unless they're playing West Ham). Leeds are the current holders of the 'No one likes us' mantle although I could see Southampton going that way in League One.

Yes I certainly hate Southampton now...when I was at Griffin Park in 2005 for a Cup game, we chanted "Premiership, you're having a laugh."

Back came "We're red an' white, we're Premiership" VERY loud. Well they ain't now...

Pork pie land.
He's a Palace fan.

For us, it has been Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Reading and Luton at different times since the 60s apparently.

I've only been following the Albion since '71/2 season. Then it was Bournmouth without doubt. Portsmouth and us would certainly lead to trouble when we played each other, and the same with Southampton, but they tended to have their own "hate" thing going on. Reading were a joke, I remember a handfull of us getting a transfer and taking their side(?) in a night match. I remember scraps with Luton and Oxford at that time, but not a "hate" thing.

Not that I remember. Surely it was Bournemouth?

He is a Palace fan, one of those rare ones who's knuckles don't drag on the ground and he has an IQ in double figures. Having said that why does he support Palarse ?

Yes it was definitely Bournemouth in those days, Ted McDougal and Phil Boyer, no match for Willie Irvine and Ken Beamish. Reading were a small club at Elm Park. Saints were a well established First division also ran and Pompey were about to plummet down to the Fourth division. Luton had a fair old crew then and always brought trouble. Oxford I can't remember too much about.

I think the real story was that a couple of Spanners started picking on a 17 yr old, and 2 Palace fans stepped in to give them a hiding (including one of said 17 yr olds older brother). There were lots of Palace about as it was after Palace v QPR but only 2 Palace were involved in the ruck.

Poss QPR fans then?

If that's the case I apologise Paulie
