I think so too. Based on two players per position, plus a few utility players:

LW - Mitoma / Adingra
RW - Minteh / Crozier Duberry
CAM - Gruda/Enciso
CF - Pedro/Ferguson
Suspect Sarmiento may be going on loan.
Welbeck and March as versatile options.

Beyond that, I think we could still see some action:

DM: Wieffer / Baleba
CM: new signing (O’Riley?) / Milner

LB: Estupinan / Barco
CB: Dunk / Webster
CB: JPVH / New signing
RB: New signing (Kadioglu hopefully) / Hinshelwood

Assumes Gilmour, Lamptey, Igor, Moder and Dahoud all off in one way or another
If we got all that…wow! Certainly would be a strong squad. To be honest I’d be fine with Gilmour staying and then no need for another new CM.

I think that’s very close to where we’ll arrive come Sept 1st. This is my hope:

GK - Verbruggen/Steele/?????
LW - Mitoma/Adingra
RW - Minteh/March
CAM - Gruda/Enciso/Sarmiento
CF - Pedro/Ferguson/Welbeck
DM: Wieffer/Baleba
CM: O’Riley?/Milner/Ayari/Gomez? (Jan)
LB: Estupinan/Barco
LCB: Dunk/Boscagli?
RCB: JPVH/Webster/Veltman
RB: Kadıoğlu/Hinshelwood

A team that has extraordinary adaptability to cover injuries or loss of form. The CAMs can cover the wings. The RBs can cover central midfield. Veltman can cover all defensive positions. Etc etc.

Old Zinny Boswell is going to have to edit this piece about ACD unless he gets an EPL loan!

Now Gruda is in, expect the news of an ACD loan to be announced in the next week or so.
I don’t know why they do this at this time ( I do as it hypes up first games), but is daft as window shuts in 2 weeks.
Window shutting and first league game should be in sync.
Yes, it’s all about Europe and other windows blah blah blah….. but makes no sense at all

I reckon we'll soon enough have a typical line up of ....... (and i'm aware there are many permutations)

----------------Verbruggen
Kadioglu* --Van Hecke -- Dunk -- Barco
------------------Wieffer
------------------Gruda
-----Minteh ------Enciso ----Mitoma
------------------Pedro

* please
i will bet on over 5.5 goals every time I see this line up. I can’t see any game not being 5-3 or something silly 😂

Anyone else thinking he might not be playing in the attacking line at all?

I think he's the Pascal Gross replacement. I reckon he'll be lining up with Wieffer in the middle of the park
Yes, think he is the 10 to battle out with Julio……
On his reels reminds me of Cole Palmer with a wand of a left foot, find the pass or shoot.

According to FM he is good at long throws?! Anyone know if there's any truth in that?

Can't really picture launching it into the box from a throw being a key point of Hirzeler's tactics regardless.

Given he's into set pieces and a good long thrower effectively provides a few extra set pieces I think you're totally wrong.
He's not going to play a good long thrower at the expense of a better player though.

I think we are in a position now to let WBG move on to be honest, providing Hapoli, (or any other club), are offering sensible money.
