would like crofts to be starting next season tbh, but maybe get a better replacement

then a couple of defenders and that should be it

got 5 strikers which is enough and holt will be the main man

the likes of wilbraham and mcdonald will surely have to go

I like what Norwich are doing (apart from taking Bennett!), they are being realistic and like Mike says, if they do come back down its not a big problem. They will have had a season of mass money and then parachute payments to clear the clubs debts. I think that Blackpool used the majority of their money from the Prem on upgrading their stadium.

Much better idea then spanking all of the money on 'proven' players IMO.

I find what happening at Norwich odd. They had a good last season, but with a team of good Championship players. To move upto the Prem league and stay there, I would have thought that they would need some Prem League experience.

So far they have taken Johnson, who Leeds fans here say is very hit and miss in the Championship. Morrison from Millwall who is obviously a good champ player, but can he cut in Prem league. And Bennett (presumably) from us, who is a real gamble at Prem league level.

Maybe Lambert will get some Prem league players, but with the current squad its gonna be a real struggle to stay in the Prem League. Perhaps Norwich are wary of burning their fingers again.........which is understandable.
And thats why Norwich will be the first team relagated next season. Bradley Johnson will be an average Premiership players, Morrison will struggle, and I think Bennett will be lucky to sit on the bench after the first couple of months of the season.

The thing I find odd, is why Bennett would want to join Norwich and not give it another year or two here and then move on. But I suppose a three year contract there could set him up for life..... providing he doesn't take a cut when they are back in teh championship next year

It's such a massive step up to teh Prem, that unless you are prepared to gamble everything and accept administration is the answer if it all goes wrong then this does seem to be the sensible and realistic route to making teh jump.

You spend wisely on players who want to come in and have a crack at the Premiership, but are not so far up themselves that they will want murderous wages, or players who will walk away again should you get relegated. Then in a years time, if you have failed to stay up, most of the side stays, and a combination of banking some of teh Premiership riches, plus the generous parachute payments make the team one of teh very strongest in The Championship next time around.

Personally, I think Norwich are doing it exactly the right way.

I think Norwich are doing it the right way to be honest, signing young hungry players with plenty to prove, taking the best of the Championship etc.

Its the way i would like us to operate and are operating.

Bradley Johnson is Championship class , Leeds thanked us after his loan spell here because our coaching staff got him fitter than he had ever been after coming back from an injury he picked up with Leeds.

thought we could have leveraged Holt as part exchange for Benno (if he goes)......don't think Holt is prem class to be honest......you are down already btw.

Am I the only one that thought he did ok for us? 5 goals in 10 games for a poor team at the time, certainly wasn't rubbush as some are saying.

I'm sure you do understand this, but that was in LEAGUE ONE. Yes he did 'okay' for us, but 'okay' in League One does not equal 'okay' in the Prem. Shocking signing IMO.

He did well at L1 level and in the Championship but the Premier League is one step too much , a bit like Barney going to Barnsley.

He was on loan at us aged 21 in a crap side. If he has continued to improve, I can imagine that he could be good enough.
