As good a place as any. Steam have a festival on this week and there are hundreds of demos for upcoming games. Not really a bargain but you too can play Car Detailing Simulator or Monument Flipper for free.

Think I am going to follow the current trend and "cancel" NSC given the hideous slight on my creed, gender, personal pronouns and all that guff. ALL men's sizes you say? You Sir, are Bigfootist. Us folk with bigger than size 13 can still be men.

Those were the deals and prices from last year, but there are some great offers on Amazon kit right now too as it happens.

You can get a Ring doorbell and an Echo Dot for £39.99 currently - https://amzn.to/3JWKdw4

Thank you. That'll teach me for not reading the date of the quoted post.

The MacBook Air has reduced a bit on Amazon (and others - JL etc) - I know it is due a replacement model later this year but whats your view on it's capabilities Bozza ? My current job is quite happy for work laptop to be used for personal things, within reason. But I am changing job where it is prohibited and although you can do a lot on an iPad and iPhone, there are still some things + something comforting about having a proper laptop type device.

I purchased the ring wired it’s ok you need the Alexa for a chime as unlike the pro it won’t ring the existing chime. I installed yesterday for my elderly parents who feel a bit safer now I can keep an eye on them.

Just to add you also need to upgrade the bell transformer to 16-24v so expect another £20 expense.

It's an outstanidng piece of kit.

I'm writing this on the MacBook Pro, but it's essentially the same M1 internals as the Air.

It's as fast as anything, with incredible battery life.

The Apple refurb store - https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/refurbished/mac - is worth keeping an eye on. Stuff is essentially new and it comes with full Apple warranty. No M1 Airs there right now, but there are some MBPs.

Another good place to buy from, if you know someone with an educational email address is Edustore - https://www.theedustore.co.uk/mac/macbook-air - great prices and a four-year warranty.

Thanks - that is useful. Jump from the Air to the 13" Pro is quite small in price - do you think the Pro would be a better bet for longevity ?

Edustore might work - do you know if I can still pay for it - I just need someone to create an account with their email?
