The fabled poxy point. My favourite to this day was Taffy, he was the original gift that kept on giving
Neatly bringing this back to the fact that a group of NSCers actually sponsored that very game (1-0, Zamora)

All good, sir. Hope you are too. See you in the Dam most likely.Indeed. Manx still goes to games, you know. West Upper, too.
The Mailing list was run, early doors, by Ryan Harding. Ryan has a brother. Yes, he's called Bryan Harding. FFS. The mailing list is still going, though used mostly for Seagulls Fantasy League. Bozza owns it now.
Hope you're well, old fruit
@Man of Harveys has been sitting near me for several years. I keep meaning to say hello. Played football with him once in London. There was a lovely bloke called Dave who sits in West upper. Haven't seen him for a while. Don't know his NSC name. @Dick Knights Mumm used to sit near me at Withdean. We go back a long way - he moved to Rottingdean just as I left, in 1963, and he grew up with all the pals I left behind. Weird. Those days for me were characterised by the Regents Park and Portslade 5 a side football crowds, the signing of Zamora, being pleased to see we might be returning to Brighton and then the move to Withdean and the beers in the Lord Nelson.
Met loads on here and the mailing list back in the day including Arthur (bizarrely it turned out he was working for a mate of mine back in the 90s) but others too - Bry Al (was a mod on here until a couple of years ago), Dick Knights Mum, HKFC (that was actually MY moniker in those days, and he stole it when I changed to Simster), Herr Tubthumper (who posted as Noele), Tooting Gull, Man Of Harveys, afters, Canarian (that's a story in itself), rowdy, Willis, willow etc etc
Yep, although I don't have a match ticket. #badfan #notenoughpointsAll good, sir. Hope you are too. See you in the Dam most likely.
Little known fact: @Dick Knights Mumm and cuddly pottymouth jailbird bhaexpress were best mates. They even drove to Halifax away together.@Man of Harveys has been sitting near me for several hears. 17 years later this still makes me laugh WAY more than it should. And people say NSC is harsh todayLittle known fact: @Dick Knights Mumm and cuddly pottymouth jailbird bhaexpress were best mates. They even drove to Halifax away together.
Oh no I wish I was a bit more like you.
*piles in*
Get back to reading your internet wife catalogue you strange bore. Or are you saving that particular piece of reading for next time you're slung into prison you sappy old hopalong gimp?
No offence intended. I'd say that to your face too - if there was absolutely no way I could avoid talking to you in public obviously. And while we're on the subject, why are you never seen in public with anyone. Oops! Silly question!

I haven't posted on NSC for a couple of years but have just reset my password and I'm here, won't be posting much I guess. Those old names Sim are from the golden age of NSC, before it was taken over by a short list of weird perma-attention-seekers posting on every single freaking thread. It looks like that has died down a bit which is good. I met most of that gang at the Regents Park footy, I particularly remember my now v good friend MoH hitting an old lady on the head? Or am I imagining that? Those days for me were characterised by the Regents Park and Portslade 5 a side football crowds, the signing of Zamora, being pleased to see we might be returning to Brighton and then the move to Withdean and the beers in the Lord Nelson.

I'm very surprised that anyone involved can remember any detail of that particular match! The fabled poxy point.

It’s like a type of Crimewatch advertThose days for me were characterised by the Regents Park and Portslade 5 a side football crowds, the signing of Zamora, being pleased to see we might be returning to Brighton and then the move to Withdean and the beers in the Lord Nelson.

Canarian Seagull for those who don't remember him, was a particular character! I was told he'd died, and then bumped into him on Church Road (he did later actually die, I think)It’s like a type of Crimewatch advert
There was a guestbook on the Seagull Server, which was where the original message from Richard Vaughan suggesting Fans Utd was made, but original NSP, which was a proper forum with thread structure etc., was put on the site separately at some put during the run up to Fans Utd.As others have said, absolutely the one thing I can't take any credit for is the birth of NSC.
As already detailed, that was Gary, aka @ManxSeagull (as he lives on the Isle of Man) who was the Daddy of the "Seagull Server" an Albion site which included a rudimentary messageboard - I think it was actually a guestbook of sorts.
Around 2000/01, the costs of running the site were escalating and, having paid for it for some years, Gary didn't want to continue to fund it, which is entirely understandable. Because of the role the site had played in saving the club, I thought it would be a shame if it wasn't able to carry on, so I took it over, initially paying for the hosting out of my own pocket and then, in time, advertising started to help with costs, ultimately covering them.
I'd just have a dejavu moment about this, so I'm going to stop typing here and might be back shortly with "this is one I prepared earlier"...
Wasn’t there also a Seagulleater, or was he/she much later? That's the cocker.
IIRC, he was sponsored to play albeit briefly in REMF1 wearing an Albion shirt.Wasn’t there also a Seagulleater, or was he/she much later?
Oh God I remember the day we got wind of the Zamora signing at the Portslade 5 a side. Those days for me were characterised by the Regents Park and Portslade 5 a side football crowds, the signing of Zamora, being pleased to see we might be returning to Brighton and then the move to Withdean and the beers in the Lord Nelson.
