No, he's a free agent and not good enough for West Brom, but solid defender and would excel in the Championship.

Fingers crossed you are correct.

Presumably if this 'other midfielder' is in addition to KA (and indeed to SD), they would be of the more attacking type.

Think this will def be the case. Dave Agustein and one other midfielder. A left back. Possibly a striker although Barnes been doing well and CMS back soon. Many forgetting how well CMS started last season. Could be an ideal foil for Ulloa...
