Given some of the crass and insensitive content I am not surprised someone decided to close it.

All I am saying is that Mods should actually explain and be accountable for their actions generally - not just that particular thread, rather leaving us to infer.

In the main we try our best to do so. Sometimes time constraints and distractions prevent that.......or we just forget.

Why the censorship, some people expressed some views, it isn't ever a reason for closing and banning things. Pathetic.

Are you being deliberately dim? The lads who died are local, aged 23 and 24, probably the same age as you. Maybe you went to school with them. One was reportedly an Albion STH, very possibly a poster on here. Can you REALLY not see the reason to close a thread that contained a number of crap posts lecturing about them putting the lives of the RNLI at risk? The RNLI will have undoubtedly carried out a full risk assessment before putting to sea and, sadly, would have come to the conclusion that there was nothing they could have done to save those poor kids lives. Let it drop.
