How big are they?

Just the normal rectangular fabric ones you can buy, not the strong carrier bag type. They're deceptively big.

Good idea, although it would feel depressing packing all your belongings into some bags.

Not after I found out how much boxes were. To be fair we were moving out of a flat so we didn't have loads of stuff to move. You can't just shove things in a loft and hoard stuff in a flat.
