Updated TV list

21st Sept Charlton v Millwall 1215
28th Sept Forest v Derby 1215
2nd Nov Watford v Leicester 1215
23rd Nov Sheff Wed v Huddersfield 1215
30th Nov Bournemouth v Albion 1215

That can't be right, none of them are Leeds.

I don't understand this infatuation they seem to have with local derbies at the moment. As games are closer more people will go to them and therefore reduce the number of viewers.

A local derby can be more appealing to the neutral who may watch on TV due to the unpredictable nature and intensity, no? I'd be more inclined to watch Forest v Derby than Forest v Charlton

Because local derbies really MATTER to the people in the stadium, and that makes it more watchable. There is more noise, the atmosphere is better and I'm sure this subconciousy increases the intensity in the players.

You can't really call it a local Derby though; there are loads of teams nearer than Bournemouth.

Fair enough, would just assume 'the neutral' would be more interested in Brighton Vs Bolton than Charlton Vs Millwall. But maybe I am biased.

To be honest I don't watch a lot of the Championship games that don't involve Brighton, unless they have a direct impact on us, or I have money on them, especially the 5.15 kick-off's. Less chance now Palace have gone.

This. It's about 100 miles between Brighton and Bournemouth.

Distances in miles from central Brighton to the Championship football clubs' grounds via the shortest (though not necessarily the quickest) - taken from Google.

Millwall 53
Queens Park Rangers 55
Charlton Athletic 56
Watford 76
Reading 89
Bournemouth 98
Ipswich Town 125
Yeovil Town 138
Leicester City 163
Birmingham City 168
Nottingham Forest 188
Derby County 191
Doncaster Rovers 231
Sheffield Wednesday 231
Barnsley 238
Huddersfield Town 252
Leeds United 257
Wigan Athletic 262
Bolton Wanderers 274
Blackburn Rovers 283
Burnley 291
Blackpool 297
Middlesbrough 314

This represents a round trip of 8,660 miles - if you lived in central Brighton, went to every game, and drove in a road vehicle the same route as Google's shortest routes without taking any detours for whatever reason.

Surely Sky don't think we have some kind of rivalry with them? It's my only benchmark, but we are down as their "other rivals" on FM, but they don't feature on ours.
Crawley have Brighton as "fierce rivals" but they're not on our rival list either :lolol:

I know it's not exactly scientific but I'm sure they consult the fans on this.
Do they consider us as rivals?! Surely not.

We were live against them in 1995 when it all kicked off

Is that the one when they wanted to stop us getting on the pitch at half time and thought the best way to do that was to charge their bloody horses into the away end?

It was while back, might have imagined the horses. I remember the swinging batons though. Bloody idiots, we hadn't actually done anything at that point.
