What a bargain 50p her hour.... the robbing tossers at swindon charge £10 on Match day...

But what a nightmare to get away from 90 mins to get out!!!

Anyway some geezer in front of me got a parking ticket, ( Whether he had paid or not is irrelevant) bit stupid if he did not pay as the attendant told me on the way in pay as the council will be ticketing cars at 3pm.....

Rightly or wrongly I gave the guy with the ticket my "legal" ticket valid until 1730......so he could challenge the ticket, I just dislike parking enforcers!!!!

if that was you or you know of the Guy in the blue Ford Focus.....let me know how you get on if you chose to challenge the ticket..

There's another thread about the Bournemouth car park and a mention of parking tickets:

Boormuff Car Park - WHAT a JOKE..

He can certainly appeal now he has got your ticket to 'show' the Council. He would win at adjudication, as the vast majority of appellants do - after riding the storm of the usual knock-back from Councils at informal first appeal stage.

As I posted over on that thread already, categorically, non-Council/Police parking tickets must never be taken seriously (a lot of away grounds use private parking companies I think, as do Supermarkets etc). Worth knowing just to ignore those, I am not saying don't pay to park - just don't pay private companies' fake 'fines'. See links on the other thread, to MSE and pepipoo forums where I am a regular poster.

So how do you suggest "respectable" private car park operators ensure people follow their rules? I'm not here talking about the Watchdog focussed spiv operators/clampers but supermarkets or other operators who run a service for their paying customers, but cant because their car parks are overrun by free loaders.

Wasn't us but similar situ as ticketed and obtained pass from some other kind soul.

Really gutted about this as went passed many attendants to waved us on. Ok, maybe we should have sussed that carparks are always expencive and there should have been a charge but, when you park miles from the entrance in a puddle patch of a dirt bowl, well we just headed off to the game and saw no ticket machines/signs.

I noticed on the ticket we were given that the expiry time was 17.36. They could have made even more of a killing if they were to ticket all those cars who had 'overstayed'.

Bit confused here- we just drove in, parked, no ticket - didn't even see a machine or person selling tickets.

We didn't get given a parking ticket.

I arrived about 1.30 drove into car park and thought it was going to be a nightmare getting out. As we had time I spun round and parked other side of dual carriageway. Looks like we had lucky escape.

Hmmm ...... I wonder ..... maybe do what Waitrose have done and put in a barrier and booth and have your ticket stamped at the till to prove you shopped there. Private parking enforcement companies are scum ..... regardless of who has hired them. I'm still ignoring a ticket from Homebase Shoreham and they can swivel if they think I will ever pay it. Scum the lot of them.

That's dreadful! Why did you get a ticket? Presumbly you just parked in their car park, shopped at Homebase and went home? Cant believe that would have transgressed their rules?

My car was parked there to go swimming as the car park was shared by Waders. Unfortunately Homebase seemed to forget this and got a cowboy outfit called G24 to suddenly put up cameras and signs. Even though my registration details were given to the swimming pool G24 seem to still think I owe them £95. Given that so far G24 haven't asked me who was driving ( the contract is with the driver NOT the registered owner ) and they have broken BPA guidelines that say the "fine" ( it isn't a fine though ) should be similar to the local authorities charges ( around £30 at the moment ) AND that they can only sue me for damages which they will find hard to prove are anything other than ZERO, I won't be paying.

NOBODY should pay these private parking "fines" - they are not enforceable and in many cases are bordering on illegal.

I thought the whole point of parking penalties was to ease congestion by stopping people parking wherever and not as a money making scam as seems to be the case at bournemouth.

Given the number of visiting fans caught out by this, and that the actual parking charge is so low that anybody would surely pay if they saw the signs, is it right that they can then send in teams of wardens once the game is on? I wonder how much they rake in each season from this. |They obviously don't re-invest it on the upkeep of the car park.

There were stewards ushering people into parking spaces but I also noticedf that there were pay and display meters there also. Didnt affect me having a blue badge.
