I've heard one of those white ugly boxes and the sound was pretty good but I seem to remember that the price was eyewatering. No wonder the adverts don't carry a price.

any one got one of these?
any good?

That's like asking if anyone has a Sony. A Sony what? Bose make quite a few different products.

Presumably you mean the Wave player...

They are great if you want to listen to classical music at a fairly low level. The seperation is great and they have great clarity. However they would fall over given an injection of bass and volume and they tend to make everything sound the same. They are self contained and don't need plugging up so are great for techno/stereo phobes
This is why I always think of them as old peoples stereos. (Not that only old people listen to classical music )I've only ever seen them in old peoples houses.

Watch QVC as some of the systems are a little bit cheaper when they have a special hour devoted to Bose. I get the impression they are aimed at the over 55's market or people who want to look posh to their mates.

To use an analogy (sp) They are a little like Volvos, Apple Computers and M&S. Those people who have them and/or use them swear by them and are unlikely to ever buy anything else, regardless of justifiable opinion that might suggest other items/servies are comparable, better and possibly cheaper.

That said, they sound lovely playing the right music.

[NB, whilst I don't have a Volvo or shop in M&S, I do have a Mac, but I am also able to understand the merits of using a PC too.]

I have one of these as a 2nd system. Creative Soundworks 740 Radio CD. It's got amazing bass for its size and knocks spots off the Bose Wave Radio CD. It's currently £129.99 on Amazon so less than a third of the price of the Bose.
