BBC going big on Boris's latest idea of a bridge built to France. We can't seem to build a by-pass round Worthing or get HS2 moving so how the hell will we do this when the country is allegedly skint ? Boris has form for grand ideas that cost a packet and don't get made, see The Garden Bridge and Boris Island for examples, what a pillock.

The BBC are reporting it wrong. As if he'd be stupid enough to want to build a bridge to France, over one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world.

No, he actually wants to build a bridge to Russia, via Brazil, because these are the countries we'll be doing much more business with now that we're on our way out of the EU.

The Channel is the busiest waterway in the world, with massive container ships passing through every day, and he wants to build a bridge! It couldn't be used when it's windy, because of the height, and security would need to be tighter than at Eurotunnel.

He has also said, there is only one rail line to France, which is incorrect, as there are three tunnels. Northbound, southbound and the middle safety tunnel.

He is a buffoon.

There actually isn't any direct quote of Boris saying this. A report about his musing in private really isn't the same as a policy statement. Typical BBC bias reporting.

Anyone seen reported that the NHS are now saying that the winter crisis is going and they coping well? It's tucked away at the end of their online report on flu, but instead of headlining it like they did when it started it doesn't even get a mention in the news.

Just think, if built, it'll generate more personel for the bridge navy!

Brexit means Brexit though and the Dover MP thinks it's a great idea too - Dual The A2, Lorry parks off the M20, a lower Thames crossing and now a bridge to France! Who needs fruit farms and pesky migrant farm workers in Kent when there's all that going on.

Far be it from me to stand up for the BBC, but it was mentioned on the Ten O'Clock news last night, with an interview with an A&E doctor.

It's been reported by the Telegraph, Mirror, Standard, Sky, Daily Mail, Guardian (among others) as well as the BBC.

You can pretty much use 'Boris' as a prefix to dscribe any project that is ill considered, designed only to make Boris look like a conquering hero, and that does not even get off square 1.

Boris Island
Boris thames garden bridge
Boris Brexit

I think that 'buffoon' is probably too gently an epithet. I prefer complete and utter political shyster. Or '****'.

But almost guaranteed to succeed Mrs May as prime minister if the craven tories are smart enough to realise that they will need a maveric to stem the lemming-like rush of the young hurtling over Corbyn cliff....

Yes, perhaps Boris Bridge could start from Corbyn Cliff, and finish at Calais. We can then watch police helecopters trying to run down hoards of middle eastern men running across the bridge, swaying in the perpertal highwinds, on the ten o clock news every night. Marvellous, heart warming scenes.

Fair enough. I must confess I turned off half way through. It certainly wasn't a headline though.

In a couple of years, the M20 will be one long lorry park...

Perhaps people should read things before criticising them. There is only one rail line to France-the Northbound one is to England. Also, the bridge plans have a mid-channel tunnel section for sea traffic.
