Khan said on Radio today, that West Ham were offered a better deal than what they asked for..!
Isn't Baroness Brady a Conservative Life Peer in the House of Lords..?

Because the stadium had to be seen to be being used to prevent it being called a waste of taxpayers money. So a deal, any deal had to be done with someone to take the heat off, at least for a while.
Everyone that voted for them does.

Every city that hosts the Olympics has the same problem with what to do with the venues afterwards. And every city gets into financial trouble as a result.
The Olympics should have a permanent home in Athens to stop all this nonsense.
Another toff Brexit elite getting shown up for what he is
Dear oh dear! I know you are driven to incoherent rage to the point of distraction by the fact that we voted to leave the EU, but the fact is that the deal with the porn twins to rent the stadium on the cheap has nothing to do with Brexit. The deal was done some time before the referendum, so it would still be a shitty deal, even if the referendum had gone the other way.
Yes, sadly there was that awkward requirement to bang on about 'legacy' in the bidding process, although the problem could probably have been solved by more money in the 'right places' - nudge, nudge, know what I mean?Unloading the stadium was always an issue whether it was Socialist or Tory decision making,
Usual boring platitudes were heard which are always given by countries and GB was no different. Along the lines of .... legacy... wonderful facilities for generations to come....more young people will play sport in coming years...
Actually stuck with a big stadium which nobody knew what to do with and no discernible increase in sporting participation in the target groups, legacy? Great Olympics but beyond that, not much.
I think you won, the country and it’s people lost. Boris the Toff showning here his motives
Tory darling Boris waves through dodgy deal that greatly benefits some rich tories, costs the taxpayer money and further impoverishes the poor and vulnerable.
Not exactly a new story is it.
First part's right. Can't agree the second part - I wouldn't have voted leave were it not the best thing for the country.
And don't ever f**kin' KISS me again!
Its nailed on, mate. Nailed. On.
and thats the whole story right there. there was no other viable use for the stadium and compared to most other hosts, we've done pretty well. most are funded at large expense only to be bearly usable, some facilities simply become derelict. you could almost say West Ham have done London a favour by keeping it in use.
Can anyone imagine what the London Stadium with West Ham in it with Championship football being played there will look like? 10,000 rattling around? Can't hear anyone when they are full at 50,000, when 10,000 are there? Be like a park game.......
Not sure West Ham have done anyone a favour, least themselves. Best knock it down and build something that has some more purpose.
Maybe West Ham could ground-share with Leyton Orient? Can anyone imagine what the London Stadium with West Ham in it with Championship football being played there will look like? 10,000 rattling around? Can't hear anyone when they are full at 50,000, when 10,000 are there? Be like a park game.......
