Until HE gets the virus and everyone changes their opinion and starts wishing him well, of course...

TBH, we are not really going to get accurate and up to date reports, the government have been " economical " with the truth at best for the last 10 days and have only grudgingly admitted the increasing seriousness of Johnson's condition in banal, general " Nothing to See Here " terms.. Hope he pulls through but , the general population will be last to know any real time updates.
The Russians are more up to date with news about Boris than us.

Yes, what is clearly at the front of everyone's minds is mutually assured destruction. The Mail and Express readers lap him up. I bet there are a few on here that hang on his every word too...
Dominic Raab is his deputy.
But, it was made clear that Boris delegated authority to him. Going back to the west wing thing, the Vice president is the President's deputy. What is supposed to happen is the president is supposed to sign a letter officially handing the authority to his vice president (or the next in line if he doesn't have one), if he can't do that, then there are constitutional methods to officially pass authority to the next in line.
If Boris doesn't give authority to Raab (as he has been reported to have done in this instance) how does that authority get officially passed on?
Quick update. Ambulance on way now. I need to go into hospital

There has to be a default protocol in place for the order of succession shirley? What if, say, Margaret Thatcher hadn't survived the IRA Grand Hotel bombing?

I'd imagine his family etc would want to know anything before the public gets to hear. Unless there's a material change we don't need to know. The questioning of Prof Whitty yesterday was ridiculous, and crass. I hope the **** from the Sun who asked whether Boris 'was taking up a valuable NHS bed' feels good about himself.
