probably, decent HDMI cables are only required for the longer cable runs or high bandwidth connections above 1080p24 etc ..

most HD Ready connections will work fine with a cheepo cable from sainsbos etc ..

Possibly. If the connectors on your devices are not gold plates in themselves, you are in fact damaging them with the gold cables (gold is not galvanically compatible to tin/nickel); if the connectors *are* gold plated, you're meant to use gold plated cables

But rememember the gold connectors are still attached to the cable with the exact same type of solder as nickel ones are... it only has to do with wear and tear, not "signal quality", which doesn't matter on purely digital connections anyway.

absolutely not gold ones look much nicer than silver, its the black casing that spoils it, I have taken the black casing off mine, those gold wires now look ace
