Will be ordering this Tony, what an inspiration you are and anyone who has the minerals to think their life is that interesting they’d write a book about it definitely gets my interest 👍🫶
It's been interesting in the circles I keep or so I'm told.

TBH I was 'bullied' into it ... I'd never considered it but given my inability to run a marathon or cycle anywhere I thought it was as good a fund raising exercise as I could come up with

Just ordered your book. Well done, Tony! I'm sure the writing of it gave you positive energy 👍. Awesome, I don't know you but I can't wait to read it. All the best.
Thank you so much and yes, having the objective has contributed greatly towards taking my mind off the **** stuff (y)

Any idea when it’s going to be on kindle? Was it wise to put your mug on the front 😉

Ps congrats on writing and getting published your story
Kindle is an issue. Amazon pricing is quite obscene and Kindle is no exception. The book is illustrated and the cost of setting up is one thing but the production costs are such that in order to even give a couple of quid to charity I'd have to either price it way too high or delete the illustrations - loathe to do as they're the best bit  It's a later job but not sure I'll bother

That mug shot has been so heavily photoshopped it bears no resemblance!

Ordered. Happy to make the donation and interested to read your story. Also interested as to how easy it was to write and then publish. Presumably you self published?
Thanks. The way I wrote it was fairly easy, 'sketched' it out all beforehand. The one thing I regret was giving myself an (unnecessary) deadline ... I probably missed out a good 20% (remembered too late) but hopefully the 80% is adequate.

The publishing was an interesting experience and really quite enjoyable. Very easy indeed and yes self published. I did try a few publishing agents (publishers won't talk to amateurs like me) but got no luck. I'm approaching a few media outlets (TV, local TV, Radio) to see if they might be interested (more from the charity angle) and if they are, maybe a publisher will pick up on it. Whilst self publishing on Amazon is fairly easy they tear the arse out of the profit and so the charity doesn't get as much as I would like so the next few weeks I'm doing as much as possible to get volume up.

Sorry to hear your news, Tony. Book ordered. Looking forward to reading it.
Cheers, hope it entertains. From what I've have deduced from the posts of the past 10 or so years I suspect you could write a pretty interesting book too

Purchased and looking forward to reading it. Do you have a direct link to the charity as well, so if people don't want to buy the book they can donate anyway (some people on here are very anti-Amazon as you know). :)
Good point - I have edited my opening post and added it in there. The book also opens with an appeal for donations so hopefully a bit of 'double dipping'

Here's where direct donations can be made https://www.fightbladdercancer.co.uk/

Sad to hear about your situation but must say it is incredibly strong and inspiring that you've done this (writing the book), because I think a lot of people feel it is something they'd like to do but might not dare to attempt.

Makes you immortal as well. I never met my grandpas mother but I've read her self-biography twice and feel I know her better than some relatives I've actually met. Writing a book like that is a great way of ensuring your voice will be heard for generations.
Thank you and yes, that was one of the things that motivated me ... the thought that my grandchildren (2 live in Sweden) would know a little about me. The downside to that is I had to leave a fair bit out (LOL). I probably could write an 'X' rated edition but the timing isn't great for another divorce

It's on Amazon.se btw 😘

Put it on my birthday list for my wife to purchase for me. Sorry to hear about your circumstances but a great way to commemorate your life. I am slightly older than you so it certainly gives food for thought.

Food for thought for sure. Having only ever visited hospital twice in my life (for the birth of my two girls) it never occurred to me that I'd be 'at risk'. Now, when I walk in the hospital I get pretty well universally acknowledged. One of the nurses is a big BHA fan, I've converted another and even the car park blokes know me and will happily chat for hours

I've just ordered this Tony. Just to reiterate what others have said, it's always a brave thing to do to help others when you're impacted by horrible things like this.

I look forward to reading it.

Cheers Sim, it's odd how these things impact. I wouldn't have dreamed of doing such a thing 18 months ago. Even now I'm more bothered by any negative critique than I am what faces me on the health front 😂

I noticed this was something like 177,000th in the Amazon book sales when I checked last night.

This morning it's now...

Best Sellers Rank: 16,393 in Books
With the help of NSC I'm sure I can break into the top 15,000

Actually based on fulfilled sales I reckon that means 160,607 haven't sold 1 copy
