My insistance on believing Sked?

Did Farage sue him over it? I dont believe ive seen anything, but maybe you could correct me on that?

As for results.....great...UKIP have some MEP's, who from what ive read, are particularly useless...how many people just on NSC voted in the European Parliament elections?..Its not like there was a particular high voting turnout, and never has been. They have some councillers...terrific...
Will they ever form a government...nah...but we both know that I think.. they are a protest group, and nothing more, and will disappear.

Its also pretty ironic that he is complaining about wasting public money, whilst having a 2k pm PART TIME 'environment advisor' who doesnt hold a single scientific qualification.
Its not just Bloom either...racists seem to appear out of UKIP with alarming regularity. Whilst I believe you want the best for the country, I dont believe you would really want people like these representing you.

Anyway, im off to a concert. Take care.
According to you anyone who does not hold your left wing views are 'Racist,Homophobes and bigots....er,who is the bigot now....name calling. Bloom stated facts...it's just because people are frightened of being labelled they they do not dare to speak out but somebody has to say it as it is.

Lord/B SPOT-On. I DO NOT WANT MY GOVERNMENT GIVING MY MONEY AWAY,I will give to a charity one's like u say C/aid,Save the children etc where almost of what i give goes to the 'Front line' and not into some bank account.

If said charities can manage to get the money to where it is supposed to go it makes wonder why governments can't. Where there is a will there is a way........no will no way.

Significant amounts of funding for charities engaged in delivering international aid programmes come from governments. That's not to understate the importance of individual donations and legacies, but the needs are so great that both sorts of funding stream are necessary.

Interestingly, there has been a general agreement from ALL political parties in government and opposition over the past 40 years about UK policy on these matters.

The question is ... how many Tory MPs will they take down as UKIP's share of the poll increases?

Locally, it's worth looking at UKIP's vote in Hastings at the recent East Sussex County Council elections. They managed to contrive an almost complete sweep to victory by Labour (who won in seven out of the eight wards), with the Tories only winning one seat). UKIP came second in five wards.
All our questions will be answered in the Europeon elections next May...

So when we talk about foreign aid, is this generally delivered through charitable organizations, direct from the government or a bit of each?

The funding comes from both sources. The prat from UKIP wants to abolish government contributions.

The activity on the ground is delivered by a variety of organisations, including charities, governments, non-governmental organisations, United Nations agencies, and commercial companies.

Any siphoning off of resources is done by crooks. I use the phrase "siphoning off" to illustrate a point. Part of my daughter's work in a Liberian refugee camp was to arrange fuel deliveries to maintain power supplies and ensure that vehicles could operate. Another part of her job was to reduce the amount of fuel that simply got "lost", once a vehicle had left the camp.

Some agencies perform better than others, though.

So, according to your right-wing views, people who use racist, mysogynist, homophobic, xenophobic language, are British Statesmen haha
You go for it.

Calm down petal...

I see it that way? So, living in a different part of the EU means im torn? What sort of fool are you?
I think you will find quite a lot of people see it that way regarding this buffoon. If thats the sort of person you want representing our country, then clearly your leanings are more towards 1930s Germany.

No, but we do give it to India, despite also giving them a large chunk of our IT and call centre work!!

INDIA

Many have claimed India does not need the cash as it has its own space programme and spends a reported £70 billion a year tackling poverty.

The £280m from the UK is also a tiny amount relative to the country's spending.

The amount is less than 0.03% of India's national income, and less than 2% of what its government spends on rural employment and food subsidy programmes.

Reports claim that India's economy is growing at a rate of eight per cent a year.

Andrew Mitchell, then UK Secretary for International Development, said last year that India is "roaring out of poverty", and is now the 11th biggest economy in the world.

UK aid 2010/11: £274m
UK aid in 2014/15: £280m
& change: +2.19%
Total aid 2010-2015: £1.12bn

It's colonial guilt. To be fair though, we did steal quite a lot of their natural resources & then leave them to a bloody civil war once we'd had enough. Anyway, what did the Indian's ever do for us eh?

I don't buy it. Tory voters aren't stupid (as much as I'd like to think they are) they know full well that a lurch to UKIP and the right only serves to strengthen Labour's position. UKIP will scoop up a lot of the "natural" protest vote and not a lot else. They won't poll more than 5% nationally in a General Election, they may pull off a few local suprises, perhaps.

I've already mentioned the fact that my daughter works in the world of international aid. She has worked in Kenya, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Liberia. And she's now working on disaster-related projects, mainly in Asia. All of the organisations she's worked for are UK-based specialists in delivering front-line medical services. There are incredibly tight controls on the funding that her employers get to ensure that the money gets spent as intended. But it can't be denied that crooks and villains, as well as genuine aid workers, are attracted to situations where disasters, crises and displaced refugees are the reasons for intervention. And it's difficult to police some of those situations where foreign armies and casual mercenaries are wandering around the streets with weaponry to enforce their own "development" programmes.

But the answer isn't to pull the funding that goes, for example, to the Red Cross, as this prat from UKIP seems to be demanding.

Exactly Lord B - you don't have to be a Ugandan despot to be corrupt. Just look at our own Paliament caught with their noses in the trough. Does that mean we should all stop paying tax?

It depends if you believe people vote for polices, tactically or with their heart. I voted Tory last time because I was fed up with the Labour government ( I voted Labour the election before that ). I would seriously consider voting UKIP in 2015 because I believe in their main policy - EU exit. Labour have ignored the EU issue, the Tories are conning people on it and the Limp Dems are positively in favour of the EU. UKIPs recent strong showings are encouraging me to think it is worth voting for them to at least enable them to push the Tory party to a proper EU referendum.

I suspect the next election will once again produce a hung parliament - the question is will a Labour and Limp Dem pact be bigger than a Tory and UKIP pact ?

What constituency are you in might I ask?

It tells you something about the state of our political system when the two main parties are about as unelectable as each other.

Hove - indeed on the unelectability of almost any of the main "five" parties.
