Would be enough for an ‘extra’ holiday perhaps, but not the main one [emoji3] Hols are just about the only thing I do really splash the cash on. Anyway, got two booked for next year already so don’t have enough holiday left for another expensive one [emoji3525]

Not sure if you’re joking ?

Depends if overseas. Bound by school holidays etc. Look up a typical website such as Thomson and price up 10 days at any decent hotel with a pool, half board July or Aug for a family, and that seems the norm. Hence why we do our own independent thing. Those on NSC taking their family to the USA, or skiing, in school holidays are I guess spending at another level to that!!

It’s my thing too, they’ve always been more important than cars, or a large house, or squirrelling significant sums into investments. Booked for New Year and next July.

Very similar..modest house and been here over 20 years, car change every 5-7 years or so..........but 3 weeks in Asia in January and then Antigua (30th Wedding Anniversary.....had our honeymoon there) in August. Add in business class flight and decent hotels (would rather travel less frequently and better) and the cost soon racks up. Love going away in January........the winter/Post Xmas blues can easily be forgotten with a bit of sun [emoji274]

Booked for skiing, and separately, it will be our kids second ever trip to North America (this time Toronto, NYC and some ‘nearby’ parts not yet decided). Our kids are still school age, so it’s not cheap. I always find very nice hotels using tripadvisor (researched with a cautious eye). We’ve never flown business class , but we’ve booked premium economy with Norwegian from JFK.
