If I am to vote labour at the next election I need to see a different leader as Keir does not inspire me when I see him, I find him unusually bland.
You vote for your local candidate. Whether Starmer is as dull as dishwater shouldn't matter a single bit.

Most people won't even know their local candidate as they don't have the platform to promote as a party leader has.
I would hazard a guess you follow politic intently at a local level? No one I know does this, I would guess the majority never follow their local mp.

I read enough about each of the local candidates to make a decision.

Though I do concede that all the while Johnson was in charge voting Tory never crossed my mind.

So I do get your stance. However, for me, you can be dull so long as you respect the stature of the office.

Boris may have trousered a million but how much has Liz Truss made since she was escorted from the building?

Just add up her fees for the following speeches.

'I was sidelined and no longer have a voice' - Speech by Liz Truss to the University of the Third Age, Bournemouth branch.
'I've had enough of experts' - Speech by Liz Truss to the OBR, IMF and Bank of England Christmas party.
'Why the country cannot afford your pay rises' - Speech by Liz Truss to the RMT, RCN etc.
'You're all fat, lazy fuckers who don't listen' - Speech by Liz Truss to anyone still listening.

I am probably like the average voter, I don't follow politics up to the minute and don't buy a newspaper. I find them terribly depressing and they seemed to have targets that they constantly attack, it seems a very odd place to be, but of course, the ladies and gentlemen that spread this hatred are not accountable themselves for anything. This to me just qualifies them as weak, perhaps they should put their head in the noose and become an mp?
I have voted labour most of my life, but I do find people that are likable, are just likable.
Boris falls into the category of very likable by many people I know if he earns a few quid and is in demand fair play to him and any others.
If I am to vote labour at the next election I need to see a different leader as Keir does not inspire me when I see him, I find him unusually bland.
Does anyone know of an up and coming leader in labour that could match or beat Rishi?
The point is he should be in the U.K. serving his constituents. Not travelling around giving after dinner speeches.

So no, not fair play to him. His constituents (and us) pay his MP wages and he should respect that and do his job.

Brighton factually.....
Tony Blair "War Criminal" is worth approx 45 million off the back of being a prime minister, two wrongs don't make a right, but they do show the hypocrisy of some, wishing to trash another, it is not a party thing, they are all the feckin same, wake up people.

It’s not all gravy for Tony, though. He has his crosses to bear too….

It's not a popularity contest. Conmen managed to con people because they are charming and personable.

How is it fair play for an MP who is paid £80K a year plus £115K as an ex PM, to be gadding about earning a million quid on the side, when he should be in Parliament doing his job, representing his constituents?

Do you work for somebody? Would they be happy if you didn't turn up for work for weeks because you were earning money elsewhere?

Biggest disappointment ever, was so full of hope for the future.
Your surprised, he went to St John's College the wealthiest college in Oxford, Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and tricked everyone in to believing them he was one of us, when all along he was nothing but a watered down Tory.

John Smith was the man Labour needed, sadly he passed to soon.

True. I remember ‘97 and him coming to power. It seemed such an enlightening. But no.
I remember the district nurse coming to my house to change a dressing on an abcess, saying 'Thank God for that, the NHS will be saved now'.

I was only 20 at the time and my head was full of ideals and dreams. Was so glad to see the Tory’s go.
I’m older and slightly wiser and can look back and see that having Noel Gallagher round for high tea and owning a guitar does not a man of integrity make.

I should imagine Boris has realised that he can swindle and lie and cheat and steal and con and sleaze and squirm a lot more efficiently away from the glare of publicity.

However, he will always seek the spotlight. That’s what men like him do.

My point is people don't buy from people they don't like. I am sure that is why Boris made such an impact against a less inspiring Jeremy. I think we have all had situations where a bit on the side can be more rewarding. The Hancock lad found that out.
Do we know that a person is underperforming if they have a 'side hustle'? My grandson has a very good job in a huge company yet he is knocking out wedding discos most nights of the week, can you stop passionate people from going for it?
The main thing is we get someone more passionate in place before the next election to be sure of a mass of red seats.
Like I have said I know very little about politics, but I do know we need to make sure this next general election or I may never see another labour government

I think Starmer needs to start thinking about his Deputy. The Red Wall will come back to Labour anyway, so they don't need Angela Rayner who does not play out well with Middle England and has never lived down her "Tory Scum" quote. Wes Streeting, on the other hand, has the lot AND voters will see there is a proper future Labour leader in the waiting.
