Worthing v Burgess Hill Town. Tonight. Anyone going?
I shall be very tempted to go on Sunday for my annual moral dilemma.
Lewes v Newport County, 3.00 pm
My grandfather was born in Newport and played for Newport County. When I was a boy, when we visited his parents, he used to take me to Somerton Park to watch them. They were a division four side (L2), but spent the odd season in division three (L1). In the 1980/81 season, they reached the quarter-final of the European Cup Winners' Cup. They were knocked out by the East German side, Karl Zeiss Jena.
... and only failed to reach the semi-final thanks to some desperate last-minute defending and an unbelievably lucky kick off the goal line by Carl Zeiss Jena.

Just out of intressted if Lewes did go up would they still be able to sell beer during the game?
As thats one thing that appeals to me in going to games there and would go afew more times if they played at conferance level
Im pretty sure you can sell beer at any level of the game, but im not sure if you are allowed to consume it whilst in view of the action at Confrence level.
If I recall the time that there was trouble at the Lewes vs Newport game was down to the fact that Swansea did not have a game that weekend. A friend who was at the game said that even the Newport players couldn't calm the fans down. He said it was the only time he felt threatened at a football game in his life.
Lewes havent played any of the top 5 contenders yet.
bit early yet to give an accessment.
Eastbourne Borough are still unbeaten and we have a good possibility that we might have another Sussex team in the Conference next year or maybe two teams
