I seem to remember BZ saying that he would like to finish his playing career back at Brighton, correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to have a recollection of this.

Been there - nice place. Missus Herne Hill drove 140km out of our way so I could visit!

As for the man himself, for me, you have to think about everything he brings, not just whether he'd cut it on the field or not. I think he'd lift the place, after a dismal season that I was glad to see the back of, and suspect I wasn't alone. I think his presence would lift the players, he'd be good in the dressing room having had a good career and played top-flight football regularly. He'd certainly lift the support - imagine him trotting down to the North Stand to warm up, right in front of those of us in the West Lower, were he to start a game on the bench, for example.

Importantly, though, I think he's shown with his attitude and quality at the tail-end of the season with QPR that he is still capable of producing, certainly at our level. Injury prone now? Yes. Way past his peak? Yes. Pricey? Probably, even if he took a very large cut. Would I still want him back here? You betcha.

Good points, well made.

This is spot on. Having BZ back at the Albion would be just the thing to boost morale among players and fans and give our push for the Premier League a much needed boost. It wouldn't be important for him to be playing every week. Just having him back would be a very big plus.

I agree with this but because we're competing with clubs with parachute payments he'll still be one of our highest earners. The days of being able to piss money away for the likes of Vicente, CMS and Kemy have gone.

Albion will always, unless the promised land eventually arrives, have to compete with parachute payments. Luckily they don't always guarantee you success. Ask Wigan or Wolves. Unfortunately they often help though. (Ask Norwich).
But if you mean our wage bill has been reduced or "gone" since Gus left. It hasn't. Championship footballers do very well indeed and the fees at least for Baldock, COG and Stockdale are of course more than for who they replaced. Up to you whether you regard that as "pissing money away" mind.

I Googled this, out of interest. Not sure how trustworthy the source is though.

"I am loving being at Fulham - largely because I am playing every week again," he said.

"But one day I would love to come back to Brighton and play for the Albion again. I always tell my mates that I will go back there at some point in the future.

"Those two seasons are right up there with everything else that I have subsequently achieved in football.

"It was phenomenal and as far as memories go, I don't think that can be beaten. Hopefully one day I will return and put a few past the Palace scum"

COME HOME BOBBY

if my memory serves me right it was outside the sportsman at the theatre of tree's but cannot tell you which match

I'll happily have the club piss money away if I get Vicente or someone of his calibre and skill back in the squad.

Currently, Stockdale is the only one that I would regard as a 'value' signing. I'm stretching it to say that. As for Baldock, I think he's going to be the new 'CMS' . A few goals but nothing spectacular. COG? Well, pretty useless really (to date). Only opinions and I hope they both prove me utterly wrong.

As for Zamora (other posters) move on. He will not be signing for us!
