Apparently his first name is Barnabas, not Bob. He changed it by deed poll for obvious reasons...

Does this mean we cannot sing the theme tune now (as mastered on the way to Reading) as it will be in poor taste?

What H is a declaration of respect or reverence paid or rendered to an individual?

ok, witty - but somewhat distasteful. Bob was the patron and alumni of the grammar school that I attended in Ashford.

A thoroughly decent person by all accounts. RIP.

Always thought of Bob Holness as one of those old school English teachers you used to find. Outwardly thoroughly nice and encouraging, full of enthusiasm...but you wouldn't want to swear or get caught chewing gum in his class, no sir.

Oh Ed Miliband. Oh dear oh dear.

"Sad to hear Bob Holness has died. A generation will remember him fondly from Blackbusters"

It's a mixture of half-fact and myth about Bob Holness. He never played saxomophone* on Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street. Stuart Maconie made that up in NME once. He did play the very first James Bond - on radio obviously, not in a novel.

Ahhh - Thanks. Only a little silly then !

Perhaps a freudian slip with Diane Abbott in mind?

Is is definitely real, or just a load of ballacks? It appears he's hastily changed it already, as his page now reads correctly

Is now the time to bemoan Mrs Hunting who prevented myself and a young lady in our 6th form from taking part in the show as she thought it a distraction from our impending A levels?

Horrible selfish skeletor lookalike

Not that I bear a grudge or anything

One of my favourite memories of Blockbusters was seeing it misprinted in the TV schedules in The Sun as "Blickbusters". My Dad said without a pause "Must be the South African version"…….

Hell YES. As Liam Bridcutt hasn't got a song, how about "Liam Bridcutt, de de der, Liam Bridcutt, de de der, der der de der der, der der de der der de, Liam Bridcut de de der.
