Whether or not you liked the man and his methods and his ideologies, he worked tirelessly to improve pay and conditions for his members, which is ultimately what you expect from a trade union leader. The fact that some of his political enemies have spoken so well of him since this news broke suggests he must have done his job pretty well and they respected him as a formidable opponent.

Crap Town
Old school trades union leader , standing up for the membership and refusing to cower into submission when push comes to shove.

And this makes it alright then does it? You really are a cretin.
There were some especially nasty comments made by you when Thatcher died, you really have no right to criticize at all, just because Bob Crow was more in line with your political leanings.

He always talked a lot of sense when I heard him.

They're not really comparable though are they?
The most evil thing you could accuse Crow of is making people late for work.

My response, which you quote, is related to FootSoldier's illogical justification for his council house comment; not taste. I have never justified anything I have done by simply saying everyone else is doing it. He did. It's his pathetic cowardly justification I didn't like. Either stand by your comment or apologize. Don't weasel out of like Footsoldier.

Quite a shock. Didn't like the way he negotiated but I'd probably also be happy if he was representing my union.
Family man and only 52. Sad whatever side of the fence you sit

And I stand by everything I have ever said about Thatcher.

Didn't hate the man at all. Respected him. Didn't always agree with him.

It's a sad loss. We need people with his leadership qualities on the left and right. RIP.

Just far enough away from LDC
In the current day and age where political figures are more concerned for style over substance it was refreshing to see someone fly in the face of that. I may not have agreed with everything he said but I cantvfault his passion for what he said
