Labour caused the surge in support for the BNP will its irresponsible open-door immigration policy.

One of the fundamental responsibilities of a government is to maintain control of the borders, especially at a time when there is a serious threat from terrorists.

The Labour government has abdicated that responsibility totally, and leaked Home Office documents have shown that Labour's intention has been to "change society", without consulting a single British citizen, by losing its grip on immigration and asylum.

The Tories succeeded in managing migration (immigration and asylum), so why have Labour found it so burdensome? The answer is in the paragraph above.

As Douglas Hurd said when he was Home Secretary, a sensible and humane policy on immigration and asylum produces good race relations. Such was the Tory legacy, but Labour chose to squander it with more of their pernicious social engineering.

After reading 7 pages of this thread it's no wonder all the world wants to live in this country, including people like the 7/7 bombers who want to change everything we believe in. We have freedom to comment, debate and insult, and at the end of the day we have a democracy that allows anyone to stand for Parliament. You may not agree with the B.N.P. if so don't vote for them. I find many things in life offensive, benefit cheats, homsexuals, and radical muslims to name a few. And I feel privaliged to live in a country where I'm not persecuted for my opinions. If the B.N.P. wins support don't insult the people who voted for them, just ask why?

Has anyone found me a BNP Candidate who claimed for a duck house on expenses yet? Right, until someone does, f*** off with these pathetic "my list is better than yours because it contains racist insults". The BNP are racist - hardly headline news, is it? Why don't we start on the Catholic priests so we can balance out the paedophiles - or perhaps the football coaches? Challenge them on grounds other than their stand on race - it's a "done" argument!

A lot of nationalist think Nick is a bit dodgy when it comes down to finances :D

Don't think Nick has claimed for a duck house yet though....! Has he claimed for an illegal immigrant cleaner - or was that Baroness Scotland (allegedly, although she was cleared and being the Attorney General may have helped her case somewhat...!)

Read it first. That was a lazy day for the journos there - look at what he is entitled to claim in "expenses" and again at how much he actually did claim. Not quite the "nose in the trough" that the paper wanted to promote, but then again journos were never very good at adding up expenses claims! In addition, the EU do not pay "expenses" but a straight "allowance" - if you want to see fraud on an epic scale, look up Mandelson (minister without portfolio) who was sacked for mortgage fraud before being given the EU job by his mate Blair. Searchlight, bless 'em, failing to search out the facts again...

Extremist parties always end up eating themselves from the inside. At least balance your posts. Look at how the Labour party have split and factioned over many years, in the same way that the NF/BM/BNP have. The further "out" you are at the edges, the more likely you are to argue about whether you are too extreme/not extreme enough.

I think there is a more intimate reason why the BNP will destroy itself.

Intimate? Do tell. Are we going back to Nick Griffin and his alleged homosexual past? All they would do is change the leadership again and move Griffin out of the party. To be honest, they will probably do that fairly shortly anyway. With him being such a target, if the papers had anything of a decent magnitude on him, they would have used it before now.
