Have to disagree - Britains changing face is due to the empire predominantly.

I will just say that the total amount of time I have spent unemployed since I was 17 is two and a half weeks.

Nationalist arguments fall down in many ways IMO, but one of the most obvious is the idea that we have more in common with the Duke of Westminster or Richard Branson than we do with French, German, Spanish or any other group of working people simply because an accident of nature means we are British rather than any other nationality.

Shed the nationalism and it attendant mystic fantasies, Cov, and I suspect many of us have more in common that right/left labels might suggest.

I agree with Bushy,maybe in time things will intergrate naturally.However blind hate runs deep there on both sides and the wounds of conflict still cut deep.What bugs me more is when i go to the US with the wife (yankee) and have to listen to a biased version of history regarding Ireland.Its amazing how many people think it was all one way traffic.Freedom fighters dont bomb innocent civilians do they ( or is that Jihad )
