I am around the same as you, Skint Gull. I am 5'10 and weigh 13st 4lb. I think I am overweight but that becuase I have very little muscle. If you have a decent amount of muscle then BMI is useless.
But that's just it, I know i'm still a little bit overweight but I don't believe for one second I'm TWO STONE overweight. According to this calculator I'd be healthier if I weighed 4 stone less than I am now which is just bullshit
ignore bmi totally. I did a piece of 3rd yr course work at uni on the bmi's of the welsh rugby team in comparison to their corresponding fat and fat free mass ratio's.
basically about 1/2 of their team was classed as obese,not even just overweight. but were all very fit according to various cardiovasular tests done on them.
As already mentioned bmi doesnt take into account what makes up ur given weight. therefor a professional athlete and a sedentry couch potato with the same weight and height would be categorised the same.
And also muscle is heavier than fat so the more muscle you gain the more your bmi will increase
