We are so lucky to have such a dignified and classy Chairman.
Not one for media stunts nor hysterical outbursts on twitter threatening lawsuits left, right and centre. Not one to be blowing his own trumpet on twitter. Just happy to sit below the radar most of the time and let his very substantial actions do the talking. Comes across as someone with a very well adjusted moral compass who won't take any crap but above all a footie fan.
Pity that a certain manager did not appreciate his Chairman. I bet there are plenty of candidates out there who would love to be our manager.

It's going to be a tricky one to juggle; you don't want managers on 5-year contracts because of the financial implications if you want to get rid of them, but equally you don't want them on yearly contracts because the danger is that after a good season the manager will just waltz off to the next (higher-paid) job.
I can see something like a 2-year rolling contract with agreed performance criteria in it becoming more popular. More painful to set up to begin with, but better protection for the clubs with reasonable requirements on the manager.

The most curious thing..
That was seven minutes of PR fluff that i won't get back. Very bland, with nothing new to say.The more interesting stuff might come out after the appeal, but not holding my breath. The team needs significant investment and improvement to progress, and without that, it is all hot air.

Good to see Tony's interview and absolutely the right move from the club. Feeling more positive now and am starting to believe that Gus probably has done wrong. You don't sack people for nothing. Maybe the club have been monitoring NSC and felt we were getting restless. I found Tones words much more calming than anything Barber has come out with.

What were you expecting to hear? By substance I suppose you mean promises he's not in a position to make yet or info that would put the club in legal hot water and/or give the advantage to Gus at his appeal? Yeah, shame he didn't do that eh.

It's ok, I'm developing a man crush on him too. Bet he's dead handsome.
It's very odd on here tonight considering the meltdown last evening. Those that blindly believed the utterances of Poyet appear to be rather quiet. Is that due to the statements from the club? or the full backing of those statements from the main man, I wonder. It is obvious that right from the start Bloom has been on top of the situation. His highly paid CEO has been the one who has been taking the flack and rightly so in his position, but it now plain to all that this was directed from the very top. Bloom gave concise "planned" answers, ones that were unambiguous unlike the Poyet's interview. Poyet has met more than his match. The contempt shown to the reporting of the situation by the BBC and others does show to those that matter that the club is in very good hands.
Unlike some posters I believe that the way Brighton have handled this enhances their profile as a club that will not be afraid of making difficult decisions but at the same time expects those contracted to the club to fully respect their employment. Contracts work both ways, too often it is shown to be a worthless document. Touting oneself as obviously as Poyet did, brought him in to disrepute every time he spoke, it's disrespectful at best. I believe Bloom decided to take the moral high ground and Poyet in his actions allowed him to do so.
To me the only unanswered (not asked) question (for obvious reasons) was "Was Tanno at work today?"

TB must feel really let down....he employed Gus and to be fair Gus did what he was paid for up until end of this past season. Gus MUST'VE done something wrong....find it difficult to think they can bring a 500 page of charges against him, if at least a lot of it was'nt true.
Gus had to appeal...if not he is admitting that he breached his contract. I'm sure the club knew he would appeal but made sure through their lawyers that they had a watertight case.
In the case of Charlie we have no idea what he is being charged with and we cannot speculate as the inquiry is ongoing...however,come the new season we will have forgotten this saga and will be cheering the Albion players....old and new.
