great stuff TB. i for one, still cannot believe our luck in having TB take over. i love his style - serious, committed, understated, patient but with a bit of passion just under the surface.

don't think some people have quite grasped what's happened to the club over the past 12 months. all of a sudden we are seriously wealthy and ambitions whilst retaining 100% of our identity and idiosyncratic spirit. how many other clubs can say that - how many are owned and financed (or exploited as in the case of far too many clubs, including us of course back in the dark days) by a life-long proper fan who's family are steeped in the club and it's traditions?

Personally speaking I think the play offs are a much more realistic target. But I agree, not a helpful comment but perhaps just a bit clumsy or getting carried away? In any case, I'm not worried about it.

Bloom is already talking about offering a new contract to Poyet and if things go well next season, it's inconceivable he'd sack him if we didn't go up automatically and "only" reached the play offs. The danger for us next season will come around October/November, if we are high in the table and are doing well, that a bigger /Championship club who are struggling, will come in for Poyet.

Of course we should be aiming for top 2 next season. Nothing wrong with showing ambition. But even if we make the playoffs and blow it or just miss out on the playoffs altogether, it shouldn't be panic time and there is no way Gus should get the sack if that's the case.

We are only a few players short of top 6 material in my opinion. We need players with abit more aggression an the 'know how' to kill a game off. This season teams like Millwall, Leeds and Swindon have that extra cutting edge.

Yes Championship football would be desirable by the time the new stadium is ready, but not the be all and end all. It's still a big ask to achieve that in one season, bearing in mind how bad we have been since the 7th place finish in the league.

I would say we are more prepared for the challenge now we have Tony Bloom and Gus at the helm. It truly is the most exciting time to be an albion fan for quite some time :clap:

I'm sure Poyet was quoted as saying we are only playing 4-5-1 to play to the strengths of the players we currently have. I think he was hinting that if we had Murray & *new striker* available to us then we would switch it back round to 4-4-2.
This would leave Crofts and Dicker in the middle, Bennett and Lua Lua (hopefully) on the wings with Murray and *new striker* upfront.

Things are looking good :thumbsup:

Im related to T. Bloom ...not sure how, but I think my mother and his gran are related..
He gave my mother a lift at a funeral recently...apparently... 'a very nice man'.

Very ambitious, but that is a good thing in my opinion. The club is moving in massive strides.

Leeds fans annd the press say they are a "massive club". The facts show that they get less Norwich for most home games this year. Preston, and blackpool were massive in the 40's 50's. Leeds are not a United, or even an Arsenal, they are no even a Liverpool.

I am sure that Bloom understands that the Championship is essential before Falmer is completed, otherwise all the effort over the past years would have been in vain
